I pity anybody who trusts this government, for all I know, the dasuki, judges, obanikoro, diezani, saraki and other high profile cases will yield ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Stupid government telling us how people who embezzles public funds are returning the money, does that now make them innocent?

Busy telling us how they tracked so so so billion and trillion, yet nothing.
If a hungry woman steals maggi, her pictures will be all over the internet, and she will be sentenced to 10yrs. But, the deceptive and weak government are busy shielding and protecting the identity of those Qho returned the phantom money. Why, because they are cooperating, quite laughable.

Wake me up when this government secures any high profile conviction.

Jerry gana of Ghana is who we need in this Country, rounding these leaders into gas chambers is long overdue and the moroniz, hypnotized zombies youths are not helping matters. God shall surely deliver us some day

Can you quote the part of the constitution where such powers are conferred upon an ordinary high court judge, not even the supreme court, to summon the Executive himself?

When did a high court judge become the national assembly?
very funny comment!! What do you mean by ordinary high court judge? Executive himself? Haba!!

Unfortunately, the reality of this all is that the average common Nigerian cannot afford the kinds of lawyers some of these rich people do.. some of the law firms have resources that government lawyers can only dream of. For instance there are some top law firms with over 50 lawyers in employ.. 60%of which would be foreign trained upto masters level, fully stocked libraries with digital and real time capabilities so that even whilst in court they can access case and statute laws! Have you visited the law library of any ministry of justice?

Now imagine if a single person hires two or three of these law firms to represent him or her in court, and each firm designates 5 of its best lawyers each and in return the government sends one or two lawyers under its employ to face that kind of resource... Usually it is a total wipe out!

Some of these firms have high research capabilities (for obvious reasons) and if there is a loophole in a law, they will find it and utilise it to either free their clients, or thoroughly embarrass the opposition!

This is not due to the fact that the government lawyers aren't brilliant themselves, but that they are poorly equipped and trained!

It's like comparing a government hospital with say reddington or the popular st. nicholas- they both have brilliant doctors , but whilst one has very poor or archaic medical facilities with poorly motivated staff, the other has highly motivated staff and state of the art diagnostic facilities... which of the two sets of brilliant doctors do you think would do better? and given the funds, which would you choose?

Our government needs to train its work force and equip them to do better. The police.. the EFCC... DSS..etc all need training.. they need top notch forensic laboratories etc to be successful..

Take time out visit our courts and see some of these police prosecutors (and defence attorneys) at work . You will be ashamed. And will understand how people get 50years imprisonment for stealing 1k and another person getting 3months for stealing 50k!

what right or power does a judge have to summon a president? Where are the DSS when you need them?

If it is not within the law of the land(constitution),the court won't have summoned them. So let them obey the law by respecting themselves or else they might not find it funny.this guys are more learned that even the VP osinbanjo. These are judges mind you.

Bro do you understand the implication of a high court judge being able to summon the president in a criminal matter? it means the president could be summoned to court to answer in every single case where the state brings charges against anyone. How is that practical or even acceptable?

Anyway, i've just read the OP again, and actually the President was only named as a respondent in a civil action. grin grin grin If you think Buhari has any obligation to show up in that court... grin grin grin grin grin

Clean up the judiciary? How exactly? By using Amaechi to bribe supreme court judges to subvert the electoral will of the people?
