This flagy.l that she took, what was it for? Was it for vaginal infection.

Say, what kind of discharge is she having again? Describe what it looks like. Does it smell?

Have they taken a swap and looked at micro or cultured the discharge? I think it needs to be done to determine what is causing this infection and the treat appropriately.

Few things is possible: bloody stool or diarrhea need to be investigated for a condition infectious cause or inflammatory condition called IBS.

Have then considered getting stool ova and parasites? It's a test that determines what is the infection causing this. Once that's determined, then you can be treated with appropriate antibiotics.

There's also a condition called: bacterial overgrowth syndrome, which an precipitated by all these antibiotics that you are taking.

So basically two questions: what kind of tests have they done on you? And, can you afford to see a gastrointestinal specialist?

Regards.

I think it is something else other than the cream. Can you see if there is anything else that you have changed that could have caused the rash like clothing or perfume or soap? How about hair, are you female? How long have you stopped the lotion?

I would recommend letting it go away by itself eventually. If you really need to, get hydrocortisone steroid cream 1% and apply to affected area.

If you can get erect at night, then your problem is not physical/medical, it is most likely psychological; performance anxiety.

The solution is really training yourself mentally to focus on the sexual experience and not worry about performance or what the women are thinking. You can also goggle some suggestions out there on how to manage sexual performance anxiety

Are you on any medications, supplements, herbs? Or any conditions?

First, what is your age range? It is likely acid reflux. Try antacid, you can try over the counter ones first, and limit spicy foods, alcohol. Eat few hours before bed and sleep on inclined bed or with pillows.

However, we have to make sure it is not your heart. And for that, I would ask for more symptoms with heart like: any chest heaviness, jaw or arm pain, nausea, pain in the chest or abdomen? Do you use recreational drugs and the like.

If you are sexually active, then: pregnancy, or STD.

Since you are female, there is ovarian cysts or could just be urinary stones.

How bad is pain? You could consult with a gynecologist for an exam and evaluation.

It sounds like roseola virus (measles) or even rubeola (german measles), but I can categorically tell ya this isn't measles.

It is quite rare to keep getting measles over and over, just once confers life long immunity.

Do you have any medical conditions like a depressed immunity? Is anyone else affected in your family?

In any case, It is likely virus. In that case, it is self limiting. You take no drug, it resolves on its own. Just relieve headache if need be.

Primary headache: such as migraine, tension, cluster headache. Vs. Secondary headache due to: infection, brain tumor, aneurysm, trauma.

Where is headache, one side of head or both sides? Eye pain? Neck pain?
How often do you get headache weekly? How often does an "attack" last?
Character of headache: throbbing, band like across head, pulsating, pressing, tightening?
What makes pain worse (or better): light, sound, smell? regular activities? Rest?
Any nausea/vomiting? Eye tearing, nose drip or congestion? sweating? visual blurry?
From scale of 1 to 10, how bad would you say it is: 10 being worse headache of you life.
Any history of migraine in your family? Any history of head trauma?
Any fever? chills, unintentional weight loss over time?

Most importantly: how long have you head headache and would you say it is getting worse in intensity or frequency?

Answer as much and as thorough as you can.

I have not really been diagnosed, I have just been having series of check ups

So please ask me ANY question and I will be very glad to answer them accordingly

And please what do you mean by primary headache and life long condition??

Primary headache such as migraine or tension vs. secondary as in due to brain tumor or vascular malformation.

Life long means it is long term possibly for the duration of your life.

Please see my first post for detailed questions for your headache.

Take care

1. My forehead only without affecting the entire head..
2. No eye pain, no neck pain
3. About 3 to 4 days in a week
4. An attack can last about 6 hours(bt shorter if I use a pain reliever in the morning) attacks usually starts in the morning maybe 9/10am gradually..
5. Pressing, tightening, pounding on the forehead
6. Reading books, bending down head watching tv or pressing phone makes the pain worse.. , if I sleep and wake up the pain will reduce a little
7. No vomitting, no nasuea, eye tearing and blurred vision during attack and yes sweating...
8. I will rate it 7 during full attack..
9. My grandfather's brother do have migraine.. No history of head trauma(that I know of)
10. No fever and suprisingly the headache does not affect my appetite..
11. I can't say if it's getting worse in intensity, its just the same type of pain since last year.. And I do always have normal full headache if I have malaria or typhoid so I can't say if its my worse headache....

I hope I have answered the ones well enough.. And if you have anymore questions please do ask.....

So, have you had headaches before a year ago? Can you pinpoint the exact first time it started and what was going on before or around that time?

And, will these headaches have any proximity to when you contracted malaria/typhoid?

And this is important: does this headache wake you up from sleep at night? Do you have lots of stressors/stresses in your life? The idea that resting relieves it is a bit of good news.

Anyway, your headache is atypical in that it doesn't exactly fall within one category. You have some features of migraine and some tension headache.

There is a type of headache that is a neurological sequelae of malaria/typhoid. It's possible in your case.

Tell me what medications you have taken again. I assume you don't take street drugs or drink caffeinated beverages, do you?

I suggest trials to see what works for you. But, rebound headaches becomes an issue too.

Anyway, answer those questions and we can go from there.

She needs a pregnancy test first if she is sexually active.

Then: she needs to see a gynecologist for a pelvic exam and to rule out PID and screen for ovarian/cervical cancer.

Don't panic, I said "screen" for preventative purposes. It is not that I suspect it.

Is she out of turn for her cycle or is it just not bleeding normally? Is she on contraceptive?

Thank you doctor. Sorry for late answer. I've been looking for your response since day I posted this question I couldn't locate it.
She didn't bleed normally. She just started seeing mens a month before after some months without menstruation cos of breast feeding.
She was relieved after five days when the mens stop finally. I'll advise her for pregnant test.

.. Yes I have had normal regular headaches maybe due to stress or due to fever..
.. The headache started around march last year with a fever and my folks thought that maybe it was due to typhoid so they bought a typhoid herbal concoction for me and when I took it the fever went bt the frontal headache still persisted and it has been on since then..
.. I carried my normal day to day activities normally before then..
..The headache does not wake me up from sleep.. It only let's me have difficulty in sleeping bt if I eventually do sleep and wake up, it relieves me a little..
I don't think I have a lot of stresses/stressors in my life
.. Well, the first time I went to the hospital, the doctor assumed it was malaria and he prescribed a malaria drug(I have forgotten the name) for me with paracetamol..
I also used optalidon (doctor's prescription) but it will just take away the pain for the rest of the day, then I used ibuprofen(my prescription) bt the same thing, then a doctor prescribed cafergot for me also but the pain will come back again after 2-3 days and since, I have only been taking paracetamol sometimes to ease the pain..

BTW:
When I saw an optalmologist, she reffered me to an optometrist to do a refrative test for me and the optometrist prescribed a lens for me bt I have not gotten it.. I don't know if that(my eyes) has to do with the headache but I just thought you should know....

I think we can go with migraine headache for now and proceed to manage as such. I see that both drugs they prescribed are caffeine class drugs. Are you still taking them? Two things about those drugs: they are double edge swords with regards with headache. They can cause headache too and they are less potent.

There are other drug classes that you can try (possibly two classes at same time), that are prophylactic. In other words, they are taken to prevent headache, rather than mask headache. The questions becomes weather you want to try them or if you can afford them.

Regarding your eye sight: do you have difficulties with your eyesight or feel you need corrective lens? If it's not primary headache, then it can be due to visual difficulties or sinus headache, I think less likely those. But, if you feel you need corrective lens, then you likely need to get the eye specialist evaluation.

Let me know how you want to proceed.

What Cyclogest is and what it is used for
Cyclogest contains progesterone which is a natural, female
sex hormone, produced in the body. This medicine works by
adjusting the hormonal balance within the body.

Cyclogest may be used for treating:
• pre-menstrual syndrome which often affects women during
the 7 to 10 days before their monthly period. The symptoms
of pre-menstrual syndrome include feelings of tension,
irritability, depression, headache, breast tenderness, weight
gain and bloatedness [/quote]

If cyclogest is used to treat pre menstrual symptoms like beast tenderness n bloating, why then does it cause bloating and breast tenderness when using it to aid implantation or avoid miscarriage. Thanks. Pls I need an answer cos I am confused

Hello Doctor.

I consulted a urologist late last year after I started feeling (4rm mild to severe) pain in my left testi-cle.

A couple of tests were carried out on me, incLuding a scrotal scan.

At d end of it all, I was diagnosed with VARICOCELE, but the urologist said d surgery can be done on a later date.

9 months down the line; d pain is now unbearable and I think it's high time a surgery is carried on me to ease d pain.

My questions are;

1. What is d worst side-effect of varicocelectomy you know?

2. What is d cost of varicocelectomy here in Nigeria?

Thks.

.. I am no more taking the drugs.. Jst normal paracetamol or panadol for relief
.. I hope the drugs are not too expensive and can treat the headache?? If not I can as well try them...
Or if yu don't mind prescribing the drugs for me alongside their price ranges...
.. I dnt think I have any eye difficulty cos i can see clearly both day and night, only that when the headaches come I have problem seeing things well(they become a little bit blurry) bt I think it is because of the pain on the forehead cos things only become blurry when the pain occurs..

IT is common for sleep problems post traumatic accident to head.

Anyway, first determine that you have proper sleep hygiene, before you seek sleep aid drugs.

Natural remedies include: some herbal teas, melatonin and valerian supplements.

Try these sleep hygiene methods for up to a month and see if it helps. If not, can see a doc for sleep aid medications. If you also feel anxious or depressed, try managing those as well as they can affect or complicate your sleep issues.

Set an alarm to try to wake up at the same time every day.
Exercise every day.
Don't nap more than 20 minutes during the day.

Try to go to bed at the same time every night and set your alarm for the next day.
Follow a bedtime routine. For example, put out your clothes for morning, brush your teeth and then read or listen to relaxing music for 10 minutes before turning out the light.
Avoid caffeine, nicotine, alcohol and sugar for five hours before bedtime.
Avoid eating prior to sleep to allow time to digest, but also do not go to bed hungry, as this can also wake you from sleep.
Do not exercise within two hours of bedtime but stretching or meditation may help with sleep.
Do not eat, read or watch TV while in bed. Keep stress out of the bedroom. For example, do not work or pay bills there.
Create a restful atmosphere in the bedroom, protected from distractions, noise, extreme temperatures and light.
If you don't fall asleep in 30 minutes, get out of bed and do something relaxing or boring until you feel sleepy.

The workings of the human physiological system is rather complex and not clearly elucidated or understood. A lot of the complications are narrowed down to the biological cells and receptor systems; which maybe beyond your scope of understanding.

But, plainly put:

But, I believe that the general idea is that progesterone itself works differently depending on the physiological condition (menstruation vs. infertility issues).

What's going on hormonally/physiologically during menstruation is different from what is going on during infertility/conception.

Therefore, progesterone acts differently during these two conditions. So, where as it relieves PMS in menstruation, it can cause similar symptoms in conception/fertility. IT is entirely due to the dynamics and complexity of interactions of the hormones during these conditions.

I hope this somewhat answers your question.

The cost of this surgery will depend on a number of things: the hospital/surgeon performing, insurance coverage, the type of procedure.

Complications depend on the type of procedure you get: minimally invasive (less complications), radiological or incisional repair. If you get a good surgeon, risks are slight.

Generally: there's risk of: infection, injury to your neurovaculature (nerves, blood vessels) and nearby male organ structures, bleeding, recurrent and persistent scrotal pain, and the use of anesthetics risks.

First off, have you heard of Excedrin migraine? It's US based I believe, but neurologist recommended and supposedly works really well. Google it and see if you can order one and try it.

Anyway, there are the prophylactics I mentioned. Please read carefully; and read up on the drug you choose and make sure it is not contraindicated for you. Please, if in doubt, do consult a medical professional.

1. Evidence for episodic migraine prevention is strongest for propranolol (60-240 mg/d), timolol (5-30 mg/d), amitriptyline (30-150 mg/d), divalproex sodium (500-2000 mg/d), and topiramate (100-200 mg/d).

2. Generally, these medications would have to titrated up once you find one that works. So, pick on and try it for a brief period, then see it is working at all before titrating up.

3. Also note: these medications do not completely eradicate headache. These therapies function to reduce the frequency or severity of attacks, improve the efficacy of acute medications, and assist in the management of comorbidities.

4. Avoiding the use of acute headache medications, analgesics, decongestants, and stimulants for more than 10 days per month is critical in ensuring optimal benefit from the prophylactic drug.

5. I recommend trial for 6 to 8 weeks, then re-evaluation. If something works well, then maintain for 6 months to a year before tapering down.

6. In addition, try these lifestyle change methods for synergistic effect to medications.

-Regular sleep and eating patterns, adequate hydration, daily exercise
-Reduced intake of dietary caffeine, artificial sweeteners, and additives (such as monosodium glutamate) can help prevent migraine attacks.
-Behavioral therapies of value include relaxation training, electromyographic and thermal biofeedback, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
-The herbs feverfew and butterbur root, the mineral magnesium, the vitamin riboflavin, and the antioxidants coenzyme Q10 and α-lipoic acid all have some evidence of efficacy in migraine prevention.

I wish you well.
