ChangeIsCostant:
In continuation of his routine visit to operational units, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Mshl Sadique Abubakar visited the 99 Air Combat Training Group (ACTG), Kainji - The Home of Alpha Jets. The Visit, according to the CAS, was to enable him assess the challenges facing the unit with a view to providing solutions; given the critical role play by the unit in the fight against insurgency.

Air Mshl Abubakar used the opportunity to pay courtesy call on His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Barrister) Muhammad Sani Haliru Dantoro, Kitoro IV, Emir of Borgu, who recently ascended the throne of his forefathers. The CAS also commissioned infrastructures both newly provided and renovated in the unit to enhance the welfare of personnel.

These include newly constructed 10 blocks of pilot quarters, medical laboratory building and officers’ ward as well as the officers’ mess, SNCOs mess and airmen club which were renovated. Dignitaries at the commissioning ceremony include Air Cdre Joe Okoiye (retired) who was the Guest of Honour and, AVM DS Dillimono (retired) as Special Guest. Both senior officers once commanded the 99 ACTG while on active service.

RUBBISH!!!! Nigeria killed many hopes and dreams of excellent aviators! First of all.... its 2016 & were going to inspect a large garage in Kainji with not up to probably 10 active alpha jets. These are obsolete aircraft! I believe I heard when Nigeria lost a wing commander to Bokoharam while flying his alpha jet. Let's look in-wards, if we invest a mere $5billion into our airfoirce for procurement and modernization, we could be flying up to 50-60 F-15s & F16 jets, if US won't budge there are new advanced better Russian jets such as the SU35, PAK-FA or even some European countries would sell Euro-fighters & mirage jets & plenty aircraft to us! Instead we sit & face these leaders & promote gender inequality, talk about issues that won't benefit both of us, always appear as monkeys to clear the white mans doubt! If we own a proper air strike force we'll not have all this boko rubbish or militancy anywhere! Same goes for the N Army & N Navy! So just think of the trillions of Dollars that have disappeared & been displaced into a few peoples pockets to the total amount spent on the Nigerian military since inception!

And how many of those jets are operational again...
there's probably a chinese kid at the back who repairs the engines for them.

Nigerian air force is a waste of government money, sack most of them!
40,000 men and officers for 7 working jets!
