You are right about asking the Holy Spirit into one's life because if you want to venture into an area that is unfamiliar to you you need a tour guide who is an expert in navigating you through so you don't lose your way. That is where the Holy Spirit comes in and He even does much more than that.

However, it is not exactly right to say that the Christian life becomes easy and beautiful after inviting the Holy Spirit to lead the way. You still have your cross to carry daily; the Holy Spirit will not carry it for you but He will give you the strength to carry it if you ask Him. You still have temptations to battle, persecutions to face, sufferings to endure for the sake of Christ. All in all, the Holy Spirit will always be there by our side to ensure that we come out victorious.
