Okay, is it that when the Nigerian Revolutionary Party comes into power, the will let the people of Nigeria embark on a much needed revolution to cleanse out the those that have always needed to be cleansed out. I love the idea of the party, but what is the ULTIMATE aim? To "capture" power or to start the Revolution?

Lets be up to strenght before we registere, we cannot register while we are still under strenght. Inital vacancy is for 1800 Congressmen,  50 from each state (Not to be mistaken for the Natinal Assembly members)  from THE 36 States, the Congressmen will be the tink-tank and main and final decision making body of the party. Everything about this political Party will adhere to  basic democratic principles.

We are a democratic Institution; if the Nigerian Constitution does not recommend the death penalty on corrupt Political Office holders then we cannot really do much. But if we have an overwhelming majority in the National House of Assembly then we can tweak and change the constitution to what our Party Congress-men desire.

Herbert Macauley


Herbert Macaulay was born in Lagos on November 14, 1864. He was the grandson of bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther and the son of the founder of the first secondary school in Nigeria.[1]. After going to a Christian missionary school, he took a job as a clerk at the Lagos Department of Public Works. From 1891 to 1894 he studied civil engineering in Plymouth, England. On his return, he worked for the Crown as a land inspector. He left his position in 1898 due to growing distaste for Nigeria's position as a British colony.

Herbert Macaulay was an unlikely champion of the masses. A grandson of Ajayi Crowther, the first African bishop of the Niger Territory, he was born into a Lagos that was divided politically into groups arranged in a convenient pecking order – the British rulers who lived in the posh Marina district, the Saros and other slave descendants who lived to the west, and the Brazilians who lived behind the whites in the Portuguese Town. Behind all three lived the real Lagosians, the masses of indigenous Yoruba people, disliked and generally ignored by their privileged neighbours. It was not until Macaulay’s generation that the Saros and Brazilians even began to contemplate making common cause with the masses.

Macaulay was one of the first Nigerian nationalists and for most of his life a strong opponent of British rule in Nigeria. As a reaction to claims by the British that they were governing with "the true interests of the natives at heart", Macaulay wrote: "The dimensions of "the true interests of the natives at heart" are algebraically equal to the length, breadth and depth of the whiteman's pocket."[2] In 1908 he exposed European corruption in the handling of railway finances and in 1919 he argued successfully for the Chiefs whose land had been taken by the British in front of the Privy Council in London. As a result, the colonial government was forced to pay compensation to the chiefs. In retaliation for this and other activities of his, Macauley got jailed twice by the British.[3]

Macaulay became very popular and on June 24, 1923, he founded the Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP), the first Nigerian political party. The party won all the seats in the elections of 1923, 1928 and 1933.[4]


This is a new dawn, Nigerians can rejoice, join the movement.

Nnamdi Azikwe

Azikiwe was born on November 16, 1904 in Zungeru, northern Nigeria to Igbo parents.[2] Nnamdi means "My father is alive" in the Igbo language.[3] After studying at the Methodist Boys' High School in Lagos,[4] Azikiwe went to the United States. While there he attended Howard University, Washington DC[5] before enrolling and graduating from Lincoln University, Pennsylvania in 1930. He obtained a masters degree in 1933 from a prestigious Ivy League institution, the University of Pennsylvania.[6] He worked as an instructor at Lincoln before returning to Africa.

After teaching at Lincoln, Azikiwe, in November 1934, took the position of editor for the African Morning Post, a daily newspaper in Accra, Ghana. In that position he promoted a pro-African nationalist agenda. Smertin has described his writing there: "In his passionately denunciatory articles and public statements he censured the existing colonial order: the restrictions on the Africans' right to express their opinions, and racial discrimination. He also criticised those Africans who belonged to the 'elite' of colonial society and favoured retaining the existing order, as they regarded it as the basis of their well being."[7] As a result of publishing an article on May 15, 1936 entitled "Has the African A God?" written by I.T. A. Wallace-Johnson he was brought to trial on charges of sedition. Although he was found guilty of the charges and sentenced to six months in prison, he was acquitted on appeal. He returned to Lagos, Nigeria, in 1937 and founded the West African Pilot which he used as a vehicle to foster Nigerian nationalism. He founded the Zik Group of Newspapers, publishing multiple newspapers in cities across the country.

After a successful journalism enterprise, Azikiwe entered into politics, co-founding the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC) alongside Herbert Macaulay in 1944. He became the secretary-general of the National Council in 1946, and was the following year elected to the Legislative Council of Nigeria. In 1951, he became the leader of the Opposition to the government of Obafemi Awolowo in the Western Region's House of Assembly. In 1952, he moved to the Eastern Region, and was elected to the position of Chief Minister, and in 1954 became Premier of Nigeria's Eastern Region. On November 16, 1960, he became the Governor General and on the same day became the first Nigerian named to the Queen's Privy Council.[4] With the proclamation of a republic in 1963, he became the first President of Nigeria, while Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was the Prime Minister.


Today as Politcal Pundits who know our stuff, the internet is the new newspaper houses of yesteryears, our angers; disappointments abound on this messaging board. It is time we take our political careers to the next level, just like Macaulay and Azikwe. The NRP is anxiously awaiting new pioneer comrades who are willing to help move our nation to the next level. Tafawa Balewa

Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa (December 1912 – January 15, 1966) was a Nigerian politician, and the first prime minister of an independent Nigeria. Originally a trained teacher, he became a vocal leader for Northern interest as one of the few educated Nigerians of his time. He was also an international statesman, widely respected across the African continent as one of the leaders who encouraged the formation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU).

]Abubakar Balewa was born in Bauchi, the son of a Bageri Muslim district head in the Bauchi divisional district of Lere. He started early education at the Koranic School in Bauchi and like most of his contemporaries, he studied at the Katsina College for further education and soon acquired his teaching certificate. He returned to Bauchi to teach at the Bauchi Middle School. In 1944, along with a few learned teachers from the north, he was chosen to study abroad for a year at the University of London's Institute of Education. Upon returning to Nigeria, he became an Inspector of Schools for the colonial administration and later entered politics. He was elected in 1946, to the colony's Northern House of Assembly, and to the Legislative Assembly in 1947. As a legislator, he was a vocal advocate of the rights of northern Nigeria, and together with Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, who held the hereditary title of Sardauna of Sokoto, he founded the Northern People's Congress (NPC).

From self-government to independence
Balewa administration


Balewa entered the government in 1952 as Minister of Works, and later served as Minister of Transport. In 1957, he was elected Chief Minister, forming a coalition government between the NPC and the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC), led by Nnamdi Azikiwe. He retained the post as Prime Minister when Nigeria gained independence in 1960, and was reelected in 1964.

Prior to Nigeria's independence, a constitutional conference in 1954 had adopted a regional political framework for the country, with all regions given a considerable amount of political freedom. The three regions then were composed of diverse cultural groups. The premiers and some prominent leaders of the regions later took on a policy of guiding their regions against political encroachment from other regional leaders. Later on, this political environment influenced the Balewa administration. His term in office was turbulent, with regional factionalism constantly threatening his government.

However, as Prime Minister of Nigeria, he played important roles in the continent's formative indigenous rule. He was an important leader in the formation of the Organization of African Unity and creating a cooperative relationship with French speaking African Countries. He was also instrumental in negotiations between Moise Tshombe and the Congolese authorities during the Congo Crisis of 1960-1964. He led a vocal protest against the Sharpeville Massacre of 1960 and also entered into an alliance with Commonwealth ministers who wanted South Africa to leave the Commonwealth in 1961. However, a treason charge and conviction against one of the western region's leaders, Obafemi Awolowo, led to protest and condemnation from many of his supporters. The 1965 election in the region later produced violent protests. Rioting and violence were soon synchronous with what was perceived as inordinate political encroachment and an over-exuberant election outcome for Awolowo's western opponents.

As Prime Minister of Nigeria, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, from 1960 to 1961, doubled as Foreign Minister of Nigeria. In 1961, he relinquished the position in favour of Jaja Wachuku who became, from 1961 to 1965, the First substantive Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth Relations, later called External Affairs.


It has being noted and observed, obviously with the benefit of hind-sight that the country moved at lighting speed within the first 6 years of Independence than the subsequent 43 years. In fact the country has fallen below the levels of the 1960’s with the power problem we are now facing today, we are actually at pre- 1945 levels.

The train that was de-railed in January 1966, will be fixed by the NRP so that we can continue our journey to utopia.

You need to elucidate on the ideology behind ur party so as to reduce the risks after the fight. No grass will turn green without water, comrades are open to ideas on funding, but initial funding will be from the 1800 congressmen and women from the states. Donations will also be welcome from other organisations and cooperate bodies.

The figure bounced around is N25,000.00 a month.

This will add up to just about N45 million a year, in the 5 year period that we plan to come out in a full force we should have just below N200 Million considering certain amount would have been budgeted for the 2011 elections and for adverts.

We might need a few benevolent Sugar Daddies but we will not lower our standards or compromise our stance. It will be a joint decision of all 1800 members on whom to let in or out.

what a laudable idea i've been cracking my brains along this very idea and now that you've come up with i'd say count me wholly in my brother.change is what we need and with a movement like this things will never be the same.we say no to politics as usual and yes we can bring about a change.

Don’t be intimidated by the big names around, our constitution is a robust piece of document, those big names u hear every day where once Mr nobody’s like u and I. They believe in something and they went after their dreams, don’t change the dream u had, follow it to its logical end and u will definitely get to the promise land.

The question asked was simple and straight forward enough (see bold text in the quote above). He or she didn't ask about the fundamentals of democratic system (i.e. vote, a simple majority carries). You need at least a vision; and ideologies that should guide this vision. For instance, will the party shrink government size to reduce excessive government control and give room to private initiatives. Will the party pursue a fiscally responsible and/or a populist agenda.

If you can not highlight this clearly, then I would have to question the judgement of the so called party and its leaders.

It is good to know Nigerians like u know u are equal b4 the law as the obasanjos, the yarduas or the Iboris who we wish to put where he belongs if found guity by our courts.

Anyway membership at this moment is a 2 prong thing, those that want to be party congress members who will be contributing towards the upkeep of the party and ordinary members who are priveedge to donate what their hearts desire. We shall not shy from a 1 kobo donation nor we will be intimidated by a one billion donation, as long as we acheive our altimate goals.

For those of us in Nigeria, when the Iboris, Alams or even the OBJ's open their mouths we start to shiver. Dont forget the OBJ's of this world where salvaged from the Nigeria gulags by well meaniningful Nigerians who felt he would be an acceptable compromise candidate. He turned out be a disater and a shame and embarassment to Nigerians of Yoruba extraction.

You dont have to question any leaders, the party is still in its formative state, and u are part nof its leaders that is assuming u are joining our fold. But having said tht u have raised a fundermental point, in the weeks and months to come the core policies of the party will be un-ravelled comprehensively. But this does not mean that those policy statement are written in stone, they are still subject to deliberation and review by the party congress men.

Why Revolutional Party and not Revolutionary?

The long awaited Youth congress of the Nigerian Revolution Party is going to take place in Lagos in the month of March 2010. 20,000 Youths would formally be giving their accredition certificates and on that day they would swear an allegience to the tenants and conventions of the NRP. The Party in her part would reward the youths with their costume of identification the Black-Shirt, which would be seen as a symbol of purity, new begining and  hope in the midst of dis-unity, hopelesseness,  abject poverty and blatant corruption. 

The Tenents of the party shall be revealed to the world on that day, we shall also introduce our selves to the world. Already 20,000 vacancies have being snapped up with little vacancies remaining. Although our doors are still open for more like minded people, I have to say this, it will not be open for too long . Our covert meetings have finally come to frution we are ready for goverment, we are gearing up for 2011. The future is bright for Nigeria. All hail the NRP

My call is Equalism too, with a bit of socialism, and communism with a human face. I am not against capitalism As one of the egg heads of this ‘great party’, we have the blue print to full-employment in Nigeria, in fact we have the blue-print of turning the whole West African region into one huge industrial complex with Nigeria being the heart-beat, the hub, and the cynosure of all eyes, the enviable bride the whole world would like to court.  

The Baton has being passed over to us by the creator of the universe but for some strange reasons our future has being hijacked by usurpers. We shall not go on a culling exercise in other to get rid of the pretenders who are holding to the reins of power in our society today; we shall defeat them in the ballot box, our people would clamour for us to take over the reins of power.

The whole society needs to be rebuilt, bulldozed and a new society built from the scratch, there would be job for every one because everyone would be busy building.

Some salient but controversial if not weird ‘hushed peep or sneaked preview into our leaders Red Book’ spelling out his believes and views. Our strategy would be no Nigerian would have more than one property, house or abode.  It is the belief our leader holds dearly, his argument is that even in heaven (for those of us who belief in heaven) God the creator of Heaven and Earth would not give his saints 2 or 10 Mansions but 1 befitting Mansion, why are we earthlings doing the opposite. It is the belief of our leader to realign this world and our country in particular with her humble beginnings.

Super power evolves, American’s influence is waning, Europe was b4 America, then we have China Today after the US. It is time for Nigeria and the Black Race, we shall lift the disparaging profile of the Blackman from that of contempt and a parasite to the world to that of builders and doers.
