Ooni of Ife unveils the tallest statue in Nigeria, the Moremi Statue of Liberty, located in Ile- Ife, Osun State.


Influential Yoruba monarch, the Ooni of Ife,
Oba Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, has
unveiled the tallest statue in Nigeria, the
third tallest in
Africa.

The Moremi statue of liberty which is a 42
feet tall statue with 30 risers, was
constructed right on the spot where Moremi
lived several centuries ago.

According to Stans Mukoro who shared the
photos on social media, the statue is 100
percent locally constructed by Nigerian
engineers that are youths with full Nigerian
Materials.

Some one double check this latest dubious claim by the afonjas because the Mary Slessor statue in Calabar looks bigger than this Moremi statue.

Take it easy. Just mentioning a few I think may have being over looked. No need for the tribal bashing.

Why not be scientific by mentioning the heights of those two statues instead of resorting to name calling? The height of a picture could to a large extent be determined by the position of the photographer.

I have every reason to believe that the Moremi statue is higher than the Jos & Calabar ones, considering the fact that you have to climb 30 steps before reaching the statue.

I appeal to our Eastern brothers not to be so blinded with hate and bigotry that we become so resentful and unappreciative of other people's cultures. IT'S FALLACIOUS TO ASSOCIATE THE ENTIRE YORUBA RACE TO APC & THEIR WOES, JUST AS I WON'T DO THE SAME TO EASTERN NIGERIA BECAUSE OF AMAECHI, OKOROCHA, ONU, NGIGE, SLYVA, OSHIOMOLE, OBASEKI, PETERSIDE etc.
