I want to appeal to the Inspector General of Police and whoever is concerned to please caution the excesses of its men at the checkpoint at the Niger-bridge, onitsha.

Everyday the mobile police and soldiers positioned at this bridge keep causing traffic holdup unnecessarily. All they do is collect money from motorists especially trailers and heavy trucks thereby causing holdup intentionally.

This urgly incident has been going on for long now and nothing seems to be done about it. I am aware that this issue has been reported,, earlier to the commissioner of police Anambra state, yet nothing, no effect whatsoever.

People and motorist coming into onitsha between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm are having hard times always due to the traffic situation.

I will like to see the IG or whoever has the authority to caution these officers have an unofficial and unanounced visit to this bridge to withness firsthand what is going on.
