On Saturday, December 10, 2016 Rivers state citizens will vote those who will occupy the State and National Assembly seats that were declared vacant by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The election is not really a contest between candidates nor a contest of ideas, but a contest between two power centres with well-defined spheres of influence battling for the soul of the state. One force is seeking a return itself to the old order, the other is simply trying to re-assert and perpectuate itself hence leading to an equilibrium.

Simply put, we have or are seeing a contest between two familiar foes in Rivers politics- Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi, the state’s immediate past Governor and Chief Nyelsom Wike, the present Governor of the state.

PDP will win majority while APC will also win some.

The reason why this Rivers election has become a hotbed is just because PDP wants to ensure it wins everything 100%. If that occurs under a free and fair atmosphere, then it is all well and good.

Otherwise, any attempt to ensure PDP wins the entire election 100% by using brute force, the violence will definitely continue.

And the cycle of wasted resources on conducting elections and loss of lives will continue.

imagine the useless assertion u put up there, so because pdp wants to win 100% Buhari had to handed over the security apparatus to Amaechi and instruct apc members to shoot people?

You and I know that Amaechi and apc can't win a unit in Rivers in a free and fair election. The man fraudulently declared by INEC in Opobo/Nkoro had just been upturned by the Court of Appeal.
