Recently I've been hearing people complaining over the ratio of single ladies to single guys. Most arrived at the conclusion that it is because girls are given birth to more than the boys but I would like to disagree with such stance.
The last time I made research on male ratio female birth rate, I dscovered that boys are more birthed than girls. Only in a few countries like Norway will you see it the other way round. Even during the last annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the number of the children birthed during the program was announced and it was 5:4 boys to girls respectively.

Now here is the statistic behind your illusion...

Given that 50 boys and 50 girls are birthed today. In the next 30 years, there is a high probability that the number of boys would have reduced to 35 or less while the number of girls to 43 or more.
The reason behind this is quite natural as men are more adventurous than women. That causes the rate of mortality to be high in men as they grow older.
Here are the factors that cause high rate of mortality among men:
...Nature of job... Jobs like factory work are dangerous in many ways and it has claimed the lives of many men at their youthful age. Also, transportation is another risky job. Men majorly are the drivers of vehicles and motorcycles.

...Thuggery and Cultism... Without much explanation, I believe you know the danger it has imposed on our society.

... Military... Eventhough women also do join millitary, you can hardly see them at the war front. Ethiopia was recently ravaged by war which caused a serious reduction in men's population. The government have to force the remaining few men to marry at least 2 wives.
Some other factors are also responsible.

Now, by the time they get to their late 20s, men would have reduced in population compared to women.
So I believe this article will be helpful for you when next you are thinking why women seems to be more than men.

The Economy : Using Nigeria as a case study, it generally expected of a man to take care and provide for his family, financially and otherwise. If any one has noticed, in the last decade, Job opportunities seems to be readily available to the female folk than their male counterparts. If in doubt, Graduates in the house, you can quickly list the number of your female university course mates currently employed and compare with your male colleagues employed.

For those of you in Lag and Abj, at the close of work, in traffic, have you ever compared the number of young ladies being driven by their male drivers (in flashy cars) and young males being driven. Most time the guys drive themselves. Now I'm not saying all these ladies are single, I'm just trying to illustrate the gender that obviously gets the better paying jobs.

Now let's use the scenario above as case study. All things being equal, the driver above might be ready to marry, but he is currently underpaid as compared to the available lady (in this case, his boss) who is also looking for a partner. Would she marry her driver?Educated and a graduate like herself? Even if she's willing, can she bring herself to respect him when she literally foots the bills? As a Typical Nigerian ma who saw his father take care of them, is he willing to let his wife take charge without feeling emasculated?

In summary, the available male for marriage is currently underpaid as compared to the available female. And the few well paid guys are not ready to marry since they have a whole lot of desperate ladies flocking around them, giving them the otherwise once "treasured cookies" free.

That's what they always fail to get. There are far more men in the world than women, there's a man for every woman but there's never a woman for every man. For every lonely single woman out there, there are 5 lonely single bitter men. Men have it worse trust me, we just hide it.

APC ECONOMY is suitable for an example.
Most ladies get mouth watering JOBS ,than the guys, all because of customer service and bedmatics.

U hardly see any BANK that has few ladies.
Even MTN, ETISALAT, GLO employ more ladies than the guys.
Most marketing JOBS are done by ladies because they can serve dual or multiple purposes, like accompanying customers to HOTEL ROOMS.
Most AIRLINES employ ladies more for increase turnover of customers.
Above all , MOST LADIES lack respect and have decided to go head on with the MEN.
Like my Mum will always say " that as a lady, u have no business in a man's house if u are not ready to LISTEN to him, at least"
From my estimation, by 2020 ladies will have no choice than to start protesting openly....
It's no longer about HEIGHT, BEAUTY or PAGEANTRY (after all most are baby mamas), it's now about the MAN'S happiness, because happiness yields quality sperms.
