The Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress party, APC, has alleged that the state Governor, Nyesom Wike has turned the state from Rivers state to Rivers of blood. It said the leaked audio recording making the rounds and claiming that Wike allegedly made bribery calls to some INEC officials to rig the recently concluded re-run in the state shows that the victory recorded by Wike’s quarters and the Peoples Democratic Party in the state were bought.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, APC in Rivers state, Chief Davies Ibiyamu-Ikanya, it said the violence and killings that took place during the state’s re-run election that was conducted proved that Wike and PDP never planned for a free and fair elections.

“You are all aware of the incidents that happened and the comments that were made by leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP especially the Governor, Nyesom Wike in the build up to the December 10 rerun legislative election in the state.”

“You are also not ignorant of the inciting comments made by the Governor; his charge to members of his party to resist arrest by security operatives, the threat to officials of INEC and security agencies who fail to do the bidding of the PDP or even the threat to teeming supporters of APC who decide to come out and vote on election day.”

“The Governor did not stop there. On the eve of last Saturday’s election, Governor Wike continued his ranting like a mad dog let loose with droplets of venom from his wagging tongue, threatened leaders of our party who came from far and wide to show solidarity with us. He threatened them to leave Rivers state hence they risk losing their lives.”

“For us as a party, we have watched with keen interest the derailing actions of the Governor of our dear Rivers state. How he has used his comments to destroy the legacy of our founding fathers. Rivers state, which used to be the pride of the nation has now turned to a theater of violence, filth and riducule. Now, the state is referred to Rivers of Blood.”

“As members of the fourth estate of the realm, we are sure you have heard the conversation currently trending in the social and conventional media between a Chieftain and candidate of the PDP in Khana Local Government Area, Dum Deekor and Governor Nyesom Wike.”

“The Governor in that conversation threatened to kill officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission who had apparently found it difficult to manipulate the result of the elections in Rivers South-East Senatorial District after collecting from him, huge sums of money as inducement to rig the election. He warned that his money be returned or he will kill the officials should they fail to rig for him.”

“Governor Wike procured the seats won by PDP in the last election. He warned the coordinators of the electoral officers of Khana, Etche, and Ikwerre Local Government and threatened to kill them.”

“The Governor has never been prepared for a free and fair election since 2015. His only strategy is violence. Thank God the security operatives were on Rivers state to protect us last Saturday. Imagine what would have happened.”

“The Governor would have ordered his armed and blood thirsty goons to kill us all. With his large scale bribery, Wike procured the Senatorial seats, House of Representatives seat, House of Assembly seats declared for the PDP. PDP NEVER won any elect

“Our position is further made plausible with the recent statement from the Police High Command about the arrest of Dike Deinpiribo, Valentine Aldibo, Onwuarari Warmate and Iloke Stephen belong to a group of cultist and professional political thugs.”

“Confessional statements were taken and the boys confirmed that their services were engaged by Honourable BomaGoodHead who procured two AK47 rifles and commissioned his driver, one Iryo to convey the weapons in his black Toyota Prado jeep and handed same to the suspects at Degema.”

“The Police said the suspects were responsible for several armed attacks that took place during the elections in places like Abonnema, Emuoha, Elele, Eteche and Omoku where a police officer was gruesomely killed. The rifles and 112 rounds of ammunition were recovered from them.Other members of the killer gang fled and detectives are on their trail.”

“We are therefore not surprised when Wike led a protest to demand the removal of gallant police officers and Military officers that risked their lives to protect innocent citizens on election day.”

“It shows that the just concluded December 10th rerun election was massively rigged in most of the Local government areas and constituencies in favour of the PDP. We have always maintained that the hues and cries by the Governor about the posting and reposting of INEC officials and Service Commanders are smoke-screens to divert members of the public from the real issues.”

“The said conversation has gone viral and we want to use this medium to call on all relevant agencies; the DSS, the EFCC, the ICC and security agencies to investigate the veracity of that audio clip and take necessary actions.”

“We have been vindicated that who we have as the Governor of Rivers state is a beast, a killer who believes that human life means nothing.”

1,If you concede an inch to them,they'll come for the whole area.
2,If you follow them in a gentlemanly manner,they will defeat you. Look at Pastor Ize Iyamu and Mimiko who lost in Edo and Ondo and Wike in Rivers state. With Apc,the violent taketh it by force.
3,They bring sufferings,anguish and gnashing of teeth wherever they take over.
4,They are only interested in power and control but never about the persons' welfare
