A pensioner was owed 2 years by the government of his state. They kept turning him up and down as he filled form after form to get his pay, alongside others. Just last week, he was called up alongside others, and he was given a form to sign where he was asked to acknowledge that he is only being owed 12 months. Even in that 12 months, he was going to be paid only 4 months, and then he was to certify in the form that he is not being owed any arrears-"past, present or future".

Of course, he refused. But, when he saw others signing the form, he considered what his lot will be if he does not sign. So, he signed. Keep in view that his wife is also a pensioner and is being owed more that a year arrears, and she had to forfeit hers too. They were not the only ones given the forms. Almost all the pensioners in the state were given the form, though information reaching me indicates that some of them refused to sign.

The name of the state is IMO STATE; and the governor's name OWELLE ANAYO ROCHAS OKOROCHA.
