Abia State Polytechnic Threatens Total Lockdown Over Unpaid Salaries by 3mmyz(m): 8:36pm On Dec 19, 2016
Well, it's no news that for the past 3 years, Abia state polytechnic staffs both academic and nonacademic have been known for striking because of unpaid salaries unsettled by the Government.

Well, today being 19th of December, the school workers refused entrance into any buildings. Staffs were chanting the regular injustice song " Solidarity for Ever, we will always fight for our rights".

The press were all over the institution as early as 8:30pm. Police arrived in couple of vehicles fully equipped, but that worsened as protesters increased the tone of their voices, so loud that you wouldn't here yourself speaking as you spoke. They were the main cause of traffic, some really deprived staffs had rush to the road side to express their sadness.

The Rector and assistant rector were denied entrance into the school, they were stopped by the Protestants, they shouted " Pay our 8 Month salary, enough is enough". The Governor had past the road where the protest was being carried out but didn't stop to give calm words to people of the institution, they shouted towards him as he passed without giving a turn to their pleas.

The decision for the reopening of the school is undecided and unknown as the council meeting was cancelled as the result of the controversial lockdown.

please forgive my English, fast typing.
