2017?...Promises are being made again for the new year. I hope they don't rescind on their promises and give us series of excuses. Why not just keep mute and get to work instead of all these unnecessary promises

I don't know why this government likes hanging it self. why not do it, and let it be a surprise to Nigerians. Come 2017, excuse will be manufactured why the plan didn't come through.

Freedom2016:
I have been hearing about revamping Ajaokuta since 1997. Every successive government will come in, promise to revamp it, invest nothing less than 100 billion Naira, till this day....NO CHANGE! I think they should just burn it...yes set it on fire! Over 2 trillion has been invested LOOTED from Ajaokuta...deceiving Nigerians.
so many has been said about this company. The company will employ many Engineers must especially metallurgist if properly put in place. but lack of competent ministers have been rendering it useless

... Ajaokuta, the corruption money spinning machine. It is easier for a dead man to resurrect than for Ajaokuta steel company to come back to life again.

If this is true then,Fayemi has proved to be a true son of Ekiti land. Only corrupt free mind can bring Ajaokuta steel back to operation. The corruption in that place is international

micfoley:
The title and the story are incongruous. Fayemi is talking about finding a new investor with the required capacity in 2017, not the plant operating at full capacity.
Having said that, if the plant can work at full capacity in 2017 that would be a wonderful achievement by the present administration

And Nigerians yet unborn will inherit unpaid debt by their grandfathers as we are paying that of our founding fathers

Agili:
Guys,
Dont get your hopes up 1%. This is absolutely not happening in Q2 2017 because this plant requires loads of replacement that had been cannibalized and vandalized to be able to work.

Secondly, some of the primary units are in several levels of completion and the utilities and facilities that support the full capacity production are not functioning well( gas pipes, rail tracks, water pipes etc).

This clearly shows that this minister either does not understand the Ajaokuta integrated Steel Plant or he is just absolutely playing with people's minds.

If The finance, will and equipment are all on site today, it could take as much as 2 years to get Ajaokuta running at full capacity

Is Dr. K. Fayemi one of the 10 ministers to be affected by the cabinet replacement ?
