The Nigeria Union of Pensioners in Osun State on Monday set up a camp for some members, who are in need in Osogbo, referring to it as Internally Displaced Pensioners’ camp.

The Chairman of the Pensioners’ Forum for the 2011/2012 retirees, Mr Omoniyi Ilesanmi, set the camp very close to the Popular Mandela Freedom Park that was built by Gov. Rauf Aregbesola.

The pensioners, who were seen in hundreds, including the aged who could hardly walk, are present at the camp.
The pensioners were seated under the copies erected and their leaders served them cooked rice while bags of uncooked rice were also available to be given to those who do not like the cooked stuff.

At the camp, doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners were available to offer free healthcare service
.
A retired Judge of Osun State High Court, Justice Olamide Oloyede, who was present at the camp said care for the aged was one of the constitutional provisions.
Oloyede, who in 2015, asked the State House of Assembly to impeach Aregbesola and his deputy, Mrs Titi Laoye-Tomori, for failing to pay workers salaries and pensions, urged the people not to be afraid of demanding for their rights.

Wao. What an excellent write up from u man. Let me just say AMINAT is really trying with the way she updates. She hasn't been updating only tragedies as u claim. She covers all recent happenings in the state. Issues do happen in a state. No state is damn perfect. Ogbeni Rauf is really trying.

alhaja amina the blogger nobody said you don't publish good things of the state of osun, but what you publish most is tragedy and bad report of the state. Nobody is saying you should be sentimental but you ought to be balance with your articles. So far so good ogbeni has done well for the workers and our old pensioners. Now what you publish today is a report that occurred last year. And please where's your so called IDP camp in the state of osun. No IDP camps everyone is fine. At least you can't publish your articles of unpaid salary allowances of workers. Not again ogbeni has fulfilled promise for them. He promote workers often. Non of them come online to complain cos' they understand the situation of things that's happening in Nigeria. Change the way you publish your news this year 2017. Everyone is not carried away with your so called crooked articles. It is only on tragedy and bad seen you will always been notify here on nairaland. Publish other things not bad things always.
