Before 2015 presidential election, many Nigerians and world leaders misunderstood President Jonathan. Some saw him as clueless leader. Others took him as a weak leader while some others considered him as someone who wants to perpetuate himself in office.

But before 2015 elections Goodluck Jonathan convoked the National Conference which discussed important issues that hindered Nigeria's development and recommended measures to be taken in order to sustain-ably develop the country and take it to the next level.

It must be noted that Goodluck Jonathan by that singular action placed himself above the others before him. It showed that former President Goodluck Jonathan is focussed, courageous and nationalistic. It can be said he threaded the path previous leaders dreaded.

By the time February 2015 presidential election was shifted for reasons of security challenges and President Jonathan promised that Nigeria's armed forces would recover lost territorities from Boko Haram, many people did not believe that assurance. People genuinely asked how could that be accomplished knowing that war against terror has been on for years without much success.

But by 28th March 2015 and about 6 weeks after Mr. President's marching orders to the military, Nigeria's military dislodged terrorists from several LGAs of Northeastern states.

On conduct of 2015 elections, many people doubted the sincerity of Mr. President to conduct free, fair and transparent elections. By the time elections were held on 28 March 2015 and results being released, former President Goodluck Jonathan not only ensured violence-free, fair and transparent elections but congratulated his opponent before the official announcement of the winner.

By this action Goodluck Jonathan did what no other African president has done. With these landmark achievements and bold actions Goodluck Jonathan can best be described as a wise man and Father of Nigeria's democracy.
