What's the implication of this very far reaching statement from the 45th President of America; Can America draw a circle around itself and be great again; Is this statement aimed at a a particular sector or a multi sectoral coverage; It's my confusing part of the whole inauguration speech. I need clarity on this and I know a lot of us do too. What happens to America's own export as it concerns balance of trade and revenue generation; who does Trump wants to buy and hire American product and services if he doesn't think America should buy and hire from outside in a globalised world. Does America have comparative advantage on all her need; America has a large market and that's a fact but they sure don't have all their needs locally. Trump was too emphatic. A call for patronage would have sounded better. I can't figure out Trumps position. It was filled with arrogance. The old American arrogance.

The loser should just brace up for trade wars from all countries across the world, world leaders should as a matter of urgency remove the dollar as the world legal tender. While other nations are strategizing in making the brute fail, he is busy on Twitter running foreign policies and trade deals on his page. At the long run the Chinese will be the winner, analyst on BBC said the Chinese supply 85% of the components used in silicon valley firms, while Chinese only depends on the Americans for Boeings in the case of a trade war the Chinese can easily switch to French Airbus but still maintain high tariff or stop exporting cpu components to the USA. And the Germans are also ready to fight dirty on the automobile front, With trump statement on why there are more German cars in New York than American cars in Berlin.

Many nations will suffer greatly under Trump. He will be the worst President in the history of America. Many countries are now preparing against America just because of his words.

On point. Unilateralism in the midst of Globalism. Not minding all bi- lateral an multi- lateral trade agreements America is into with other nations. Trump will not survive 6 months as President.

America cannot isolate itself from the world, but american governments are always too excessive and wasteful in international politics leaving their country in ruin.

Below was my post on Nov 12, 2012.

juman:

america way of doing things is not sensible. They are pilling up debt to maintain unnecessary numbers of military bases around the world.

Generally they spend to much on defence, despite the fact that they have millions of people in their country that are not enjoying their lifes. A point will come that the union will be forced to break like that of USSR.

Well sha, I wish america to prosper under Obama.

Trump might turn out to be a wonderful president. People think he's proud, but that has absolutely nothing to do with sound policies.

Anything that will make a nation great, is welcome. The man, Trump, is trying to look inwards, and that's a good thing.

America is mamoth institution and as such, Trump will noy lead them unilaterally; he has sound and grounded people, and more importantly, the consitution to guide him. This is a far cry from the shambles we have in Nigeria where elected officials, from the president down, flagrantly disobey the constitution and recourse to it when it suits them.

Ride on Trump. The world will support you if you get it right.

so where will china export to?
America has the largest market in the world with the lowest import tariffs.....
if America closes its border to Chinese and Mexican goods, those countries are finished....
try export finished products to china and experience ridiculous restriction at their border....
I wonder why china should be treated as a developing country in WTO trade agreements, a country that manufactures everything......
nobody will dump dollar, which currency will they turn to......
countries uses dollar as a legal tender not because any love for America but because its pragmatic to do so......
trump is right on this, enough of rubbish trade deals that will eventually turn America to a consumer nation and a debtor.....
travel around American blue-belt states and u will understand trump's anger. look at what they turn Detroit to......
I wish we have leaders like him......
Look at what they turn Nigeria to, a dumping ground for all manners of foreign goods.....
Our open borders crippled Nigerian manufacturing capacity.
enough of free trade, but fair trade.

These is just standard bullshit, where will China go?? China goods dominate even European market. The blue collar jobs in the rust belt where lost due to advance in manufacturing operations. Plus trump nominee on labor Andrew puzder is an anti labor unionists, he was quoted as saying he favor robot in operational matter, cos they don't ask for unnecessary breaks and pay increments. How does that even correlate with the mantra of job creation.

Plus trump can't fight internationalization of trade, the Germans are ready for him in the auto industry after he threw the shades at Mercedes. If you listen to the discuss at the world economy forum at Davos Switzerland, you would know that it gonna be a long drawn battle from the speech from xi jinping Chinese pm, sigmar Gabriel German economy minister and Steve mnuchin trumps nominee for economy and trade.

American industries and America are the greatest beneficiaries of international trade, with the way they muscle off local production worldwide. The problem of the rust belt wasn't caused by people taking away America jobs, but according to cheng ma it's caused by throwing away trillions of dollar prosecuting useless wars.

Don't tell me trump won't start a war, going by the rhetoric against Iran and the imbalance he's trying to create in the middle east. With an undiplomatic statement on Israel Palestine issues plus the rhetoric of islamophobia in the face of American thirst for middle east oil. He already blame Obama why he didn't just take all the oil in Iraq. We gonna wait how he's gonna barge into sovereign nations and start annexing there resources.

Obama govt didn't go to war yet added 10 trillion dollars to the national debt.....

besides this is not about American war-mongering tendencies....
its about getting the better ends of trade deals....
something African countries had never attempted despite being worse off with every trade deals they sign.....
china can promote globalization because it favours them. as it is now, no country can compete with china when it comes to competitive manufacturing capability. so why wont they advocate for open borders and free trade.......
manufacturing automation or not, evidence has shown that 10 million manufacturing jobs left America for overseas btw 2001 and 2012, and only 4 million service jobs(mostly retail) were created.
yet some people complain when a leader is determined to turnaround this disastrous trend......
.
look here, am not an American but I like leaders place the interest of his nation ahead of any other thing.
that's why I like trump.

this is a big lesson for African countries and its ignorant leaders.....
unite and stand up for ur country, pull out of deals that leaves u with the rotten end.
stop being exporters of primary commodity products, because that what any free trade will turn us into....
lets exploit our resources and manpower, then use it to produce finished goods and complex products......
this is what we should be exporting and not some cocoa, palm oil, copper, crude oil, cassava, cotton etc
Africa will never be prosperous so long as we are stuck with commodity products exportation.
