[quote author=hopefulLandlord post=53093556] not just a lot of porn but Nigerians are top ten in gay and lesbian porn searches in the world a also disagree with Analice107's assertion that sexual immorality is the hardest to overcome although I'll admit its up there the biggest sin to overcome in Nigeria is the temptation to be corrupt, when you have sex to a particular point you find out there's really nothing new , I know this from experience I'll also admit that I've met several Christians over the years who have conquered sexual immortality as far as I can see corruption however is endemic that almost every Nigerian Christian supports it one way or the other corruption is actually not the problem but HYPOCRISY I've never met a corruption free Christian, I'm not denying that there may not be one but I've never met one who after scratching the pristine external surface, getting close enough to them that one has to see them for who they are is not corrupt in one way or another especially when we have business dealings why I say HYPOCRISY is the hardest is that these Christians have a way of defending their version of "corruption" by whitewashing it and have successfully deluded themselves into thinking what they're doing isn't corruption per say but .................................. fill that gap with the senseless defense they have basically, they say "I gave the Police N200 so that they'll let me go, I'm late for the meeting and I'll lose a lot more than N200, so its not corruption" corruption becomes what they "define" it to be this hypocrisy extends to several other bad behaviours but the hypocritical view of corruption is the one I've seen in 97% of Christians I know on the surface and 100% of Christians I get close to let me reiterate that I've NOT met a Christian that isn't involved in corruption one way or another, they usually give a pristine appearance but their corruption shines through when you get close enough [/quoand Yes, i agree with you on the corruption aspect. The reason is, our society has inculcated that into our fabrics before we even became humans enough to think. In all facet of our lives as Nigerians, corruption is allowed. We grew up not knowing it is wrong. The absence of accountability at all levels makes it difficult for folks to know what it really is. It talks a conscious effort to first, know what it is, and then fight against it. And, in trying to fight against it, turns out that you find yourself fighting the same system which should have fought you in the first place. The Nigerian system teaches her citizens to steal, lie and kill others. Its a Zoo really. In the Universities today, the lecturers are standing by to make your life miserable. It doesn't matter how intelligent you are, when you are done writing their exams you come for sorting. Everyone knows it, but no one is talking. You can't get admission into school without bribing the system. the lecturers sexually assaults and oppresses ladies who are even married because they are lecturers and have the power to do it. There's no where to report these things. Students will rather wait and sort rather than read, since even if you read, you must sort. But, i can hit my chest and say, "I never sorted one single lecturer and never had a carryover". Today, human lives are gradually being taken as easily as telling lies or taking bribes. Everyone sees it, but no one is doing anything about it. When we grow up like this and then become Christians, the battle to rid these things off us begins. Its tough. Christianity is basically cleaning yourself, fighting to deliver yourself from yourself. The mindsets, Old habits, firm structures and strongholds that have taken hold of the mind over the years. They don't die easily. Any Christian who succeeds in overcoming self has conquered. Its not easy. Logicboy said its easy to be a Christian in Nigeria, he doesn't know what he is talking about. In the Western World, every child grows up knowing, if you commit a crime you'd pay for it. Here everyone knows, if you commit a crime nothing will happen, even if anything happens, you can bribe your way out. Guy, we dey try. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

JackBizzle:Hmmm, Nigerian Christians worship money, but i walked away from 1million naira without sweat? In this recession, folks are looking for money to steal, they can't find and someone calls you to come and collect 1Million Naira for just allowing some big boys use your company name to steal from the government and you say no, yet you are accused of worshipping money? Logicboy biko. Why u dey like this nah? |

analice107: You are one christian out of many. Many christians here will jump at that 1 million Naira. That is the problem. Even in the bible, when ten were healed only one of them came back to thank the healer. We worship money in Nigeria. No time for poor pastors. We must tithe. Pastor must wear designer suit. Pastor must drive Jeep and fly private jet. |

urheme:Wow. l always referred to you as 'He'. Good to know. I hope you are studying the Word now? When i began, i was so fascinated with the NWO's kind of meditation, so i asked the Holy Spirit to teach me godly meditation. I meditate now. Ask for everything, but read your Bible and look out for what He has left for you to do. He won't do what he has left for you to take responsibility for. Just ask him how to find your way. It works when you submit. |
