The minister is right to look into this. By shooting big brother in SA, multichoice took away jobs/contracts that would have been done by Nigerians. These include production, post-production, catering, logistics, security, cleaning, and other jobs/contracts.

When you take into consideration the number if shows, adverts, music videos primarily targeted at the Nigerian audience that are shot in SA, Kenya, etc. and the number of jobs/contracts we lose as a result, you'll probably understand why the minister's action is right. And please, don't tell me about production quality; if these companies and artistes had any real interest in shooting in Nigeria, they'd do what they do so easily in SA and Kenya- build local capacity.

And don't tell me it's their business where they shoot. Nigeria is a big market for most of these folks; we should not sit back while benefits that should come to us are ploughed elsewhere.
