We Regret Voting Out Jonathan – Northern Leader Cries Out, Begs Buhari To Leave by spartan50(m): 10:51am On Jan 26, 2017
A Northern Leader, Sheikh Gumi, has expressed regret for voting out former President, Goodluck Jonathan, in the 2015 general elections.

Gumi, who made this disclosure on Tuesday, in an interview he granted to some Reporters, expressed his views about the current happenings in Nigeria.

His Statement in the interview reads: “Jonathan is even needed in the country more now, to bring stability to the country. Give him his due recognition. He did well too. He made mistakes, everybody makes mistakes.

“This government should use former President Jonathan now, to stabilize the South-East and the South-South.

“The past political leaders in the North have not done well for us in the North.

“One of the problems they refused to solve, is the level of education among our people.

“Look at the Almajiri problem, the effort of former President Goodluck Jonathan was the best.

“He built four hundred Almajiri schools. It was the absolute right thing to do.

“If that program had continued, it would have killed Boko Haram.

“Politics set in, people diverted the funds. Jonathan had the answer to the Almajiri issue, but it was not executed.

“President Buhari is already making a mistake. He has to be very tactful. He has to be subtle and wise.

“It is just like removing a tumor from the brain. Ask a Neurosurgeon, he will tell you that a small tumor may take you 15 hours to remove.

“You cannot rush. This is how Nigeria is: delicate.

“All these drastic measures, stringent measures don’t work.

“The way the present administration is handling corruption, it is not working.

“I am not supporting Boko Haram or corruption, but it is the way they are being handled.

“During Jonathan’s time, soldiers mounted road blocks in every city and corner, would make people get down from their bikes and cars.

“The security services were humiliating people who were supposed to vote for President Jonathan, in the name of fighting Boko Haram.

“The North is the victim of Boko Haram. Maiduguri is the victim of Boko Haram. A majority of the people don’t like Boko Haram.

“When you institute stringent measures that punish the population, they turn against you.

“Jonathan is a good person, but the security deceived him. They stirred the anger of the people against him.

“This was a man who was doing his best, but his agents did not do well for him.

“The market is very volatile. It does not want disturbance. Look at naira, it has crashed against the dollar, and the economy is grounded.

“It would have been slowly and subtly done. If you go to Malaysia or Saudi Arabia, the rate against the dollar remains the same.

“Now, the corruption we are trying to fight has tripled, because once there is poverty, the brain does not accept what they see as corruption.

“You cannot get anything now, except you give money. You don’t smash your television set, simply because you want to kill a rat in your room.

“Even the agitation in the South has increased, because of the way the President is handling issues.

“Generally South-Easterners are good people, but they do not have intellectuals to direct them on what to do and how to do it.

“This is what they lack. What we will do is to assist them to have good intellectuals.

“To begin any genuine reconciliation, President Buhari should release Nnamdi Kanu immediately.

“He should not only be released from prison, he should also be brought to the negotiation table.

“Government Ekpemupolo, Asari Dokubo, should be brought to the negotiating table. Kanu should not be in prison.

“He is merely agitating, and they have a reason to agitate. Bring them to the table.

“They are different from Boko Haram. We had to use force on Boko Haram.

“I think we can bring them to the table now, because they have seen their experiment did not work.

“As for Kanu, he should be brought out and negotiated with. Ask him what he wants.

“Bring Europeans and teach him how to negotiate. It is not by force.

“If you paralyze Enugu with a demonstration, you are destroying the economy of Enugu. It is not good for you.

“Bring peace to the South-East, develop the South-East, then negotiate. Kanu should be educated.

“If you imprison him, you are giving him the power to draw sympathy from even those who do not support what he is doing.’’

They've realized the centre cannot hold despite their scheming which is turning out to be bad moves and things are beginning to fall apart.

This is the worst government in the history of naija and the anger of Nigerians are becoming high pitched due to bad economic policies, insecurity and incessant killing by Fulani herdsmen militia terrorists.

Hence they are afraid that a likely revolution(it's already taking place on social media) may occur physically sooner than they expected.

It's not about looking stupid, my delicious diva. It's about owning up to a mistake, and correcting it.

I voted out Jonathan and voted in Buhari, thus far, Buhari has been showing he's no different from Jonathan.

However, I plan on correcting this mistake come 2019. 2015 is the last time I'll ever vote for a christian or a muslim in this country. They've done everything to wreck and cause mayhem as a result of their religious affiliation and loyalty, in this country.

But so far, we can both testify Jonathan was way better. We've never had it this bad.

Maybe henceforth we need to consider the future when choosing a president, and not just trying to get rid of the person on seat.

Nope, Jonathan is worse. He's not only weak, he's incompetent and lack what it takes to be a leader.

Yes, and we can do that by being prudent with our choice and not allowing sentiment based on religious and tribal affiliation to cloud or judgment.

A mistake is made when one doesn't consider or even know the full extent or the gravity of the mistake he's about to make.

But if one is aware of the consequences of that mistake and still go ahead to make that mistake, then that person is not only a fool, but a certified nonentity who should be thrown in Uselu Psychiatric Ward for proper mental rehabilitation.

Thank you.

You call him weak and incompetent but he did way better, at least during his administration the economic situation of this country wasn't this bad. I thought Buhari promised change and all of that? Laughable..

grin Until then.

The current economic situation is as a result of the massive looting and high handedness perpetrated by the PDP, especially during the administration of Jonathan.

Things weren't this bad because the money looted was being circulated and spent lavishly by those who looted it, now there's no money to loot recklessly that's why the economy is falling.

I believe the nigerian economy depend massive of thriving corruption, as every nook and cranny is full of corruption.

So, when you take a man's means of livelihood away from him, the current economic situation is what you'd get.

This man z damn intelligent, u seems to understand d whole scenario, and the solution.
They say, problem half known z half solved.

#Education and Economic empowerment re d keys to fighting Terrorism.....Hence over 400 Almajiri schools and U~WIN programme. ..courtesy GEJ.

#Technologies can fight corruption.. ..hence introduction of BVN and other measures.. ..courtesy of GEJs govts.

#Negotiation will solve our differences and mistakes, not arrests and imprisonment.. ...hence the National Confab.. ...courtesy of GEJ.

#Diversification will improve our Economy....hence the construction of dams for irrigation across the North, subsidizing of price of fertilizers, agriculture loans, loans for entrepreneurs from bank of industry to empower local industries.
#Rehabilitation of our railway systems, SURE~P programmes etal.
In fact, GEJ hv the interest of every Nigerian @ heart but we voted him out, out of our ingratefulness, despite that he hv his shortcomings which is normal for a human.
Here we re bc of our Ungratefulness, Seems God used PMB to punish Nigerians for treating GEJ with disdain.
Pray that God's will be Done with Nigeria.

And Buhari is a saint?

As usual, you'd blame it on Jonathan, i though Buhari was voted in to make changes?

the truth is, the present administration is responsible for our woes... All these are just results of poor economic policies.

Nigeria would rather borrow money to put into what wouldn't yield good result than investing inthings that would create job opportunities.

I think its already high time we stop the blames, how long are we gonna keep blaming? Almost 2 years and we are still blaming.
