Sibrah: Nobody is arguing who copied or who set standard. But Unilorin was able to achieve their aim by inculcating norms and values in the students. 1 Like |

zabuur: is that a question u really want me to answer? have you asked urself why we have eggheads walking around calling themselves graduates? have you asked urself why we dont have one university that boasts of adding value to africa or the world thru research? then again....u r clearly one of those more interested in body parts than the quality of educ u receive in our institutions. |

Lol. Did they think this through? Who doesn't wear tight jeans just a few. Go to the market and see if you will find baggy. They might as well show pictures of what they want and don't want like a deeper life tract I had many years ago that showed acceptable dress code or more of recent in MFM that display a billboard of what not to wear to church. |

Very apt! take your indecent dressing to your closet. Really don't know how people feel wearing torn jeans or some very inappropriate clothing sef. |

I don't think Nigerians understand the concepts of living in a secular democracy, individualism or freedom of expression. We just have these laws for show. The Constitution is a farce in this country. It's very obvious that our de facto laws are based on Islam and Christianity but veiled as "African culture". |

Untainted007: I should have just clicked "Like" but i think I must comment that this is a step in the right direction, because things have gone out of hand in our institutions especially with most girls. This move is better late than never. It states dress code for lectures and academic ceremonies, this is perfect. If we all have dress code for our parties, meetings, weddings and events, we should expect that academics should be equally responsible in all fields. After all lawyers and bankers, engineers and doctors will eventually learn to adapt to some sort of dress code while practicing their profession. Teaching this kind of discipline must go along with the training. After classes students can dress the way they wish as a matter of choice. Though I have read of a naked student in a university once in the US but we are in Africa and i dont think any student will want to go that far anytime soon. |

Very soon almost all the Universities would follow a strict dress code. If you are a parent you will be glad someone somewhere is at least taking steps to bring back some morals to our society. quote author=blackboy post=53499435]Lol. Did they think this through?
