Enough of these lies by Lai Mohammed – CAN

LAGOS —THE Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, yesterday, accused the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, of distorting facts in the name of politics.


“We are disappointed but not surprised with the disparaging lies and abusive statements credited to the Minister of Information in Ilorin during the town hall meeting where he was accusing religious leaders of making alleged provocative statements that can lead to religious war,’’ CAN said in a statement signed by Special Assistant (Media and Communications), Adebayo Oladeji, to the National President, Rev. Samson Ayokunle.

According to CAN, the Information Minister, in his characteristic manner, left out the issues but went after the so-called religious leaders who are the Christian leaders because he dare not speak against Muslim leaders who had said worse things.


The statement asked Alhaji Mohammed if he was accusing CAN of “telling lies that our members are being killed, maimed and burnt by the Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East?


“That our members are being killed by the Fulani herdsmen in Plateau, Benue and now Southern Kaduna? That those responsible for these killings profess Islam as their religion? That those who killed Madam Bridget Agbahime in Kano were Muslims who were arrested but later discharged and acquitted by the court as requested by the state Attorney- General and Commissioner of Justice?


‘’That those who killed Madam Eunice Elisha Olawale while doing the morning preaching in Kubwa, Abuja, were Muslim fundamentalists, who were arrested but also freed by the Police?


“Is Lai Mohammed telling us that no Christian was killed by the Fulani herdsmen who invaded the Southern Kaduna, killed and maimed our members and razed down their communities recently?


‘’Is Mohammed saying the Fulani herdsmen, who have been killing our members are not armed with sophisticated weapons and is it wrong for us to ask where they get the AK-47 and other weapons they are using?


“When all those killings were going on in Plateau, Benue and Southern Kaduna, was there any time Lai Mohammed or anyone in the Federal Government raised up a voice against the atrocities?”


“If those murderous Fulani herdsmen are faceless, how come the Sultan of Sokoto is claiming that they are not Nigerians and in another instance, the Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, said they had been paid for the ‘wrong done to them’?


“Why is it that whenever these murderers are perpetrating their atrocities, the security agencies look elsewhere until their victims decided to fight back?

Is it because the security agencies are Muslim dominated?

CAN says no to disparaging remarks in the name of politics. Enough of these lies by Lai Mohammed.

Look at the wretched life Nigerians are living. Nigerians have been ridiculed to online sport betting, Ponzi scheme. Just look at the wretched life so many Nigerians have been reduced to. I remember how gambler are seen when someone finds out you are a gambler when I was still a little kid, you will be looked at as a lazy and irresponsible human being but today even pastors dey play Merrybet. Government have turned Nigerians to ZOMBIES, using hardship and wickedness. An average Nigerian cannot afford 2 square meal a day. How did we allow these set of people we keep giving power over us get us here. It's official, the mindset of so many Nigerians right now is not different from that of a Zombie we see in American movies

No don't warn him. Let him continue to lie. Posterity will one day judge him.

The problem I have are some ignorant fellows who take him serious. In a sane country such deception is liable to life imprisonment. But not in Nigeria where people think up side down. Sometimes I even wonder what God used to produce people that take such lies. Do they really have common sense?

Blacks are surely backward in reasoning. No insult. Simple reasoning is difficult for them. If not, How on earth will the like of Liar Mohammed be telling nonsense and still people will believe him? How on earth will Adams Oshomole come back from America and tell Nigerians 6 people stole billions of dollars, till today nobody asked him to substantiate his claim?

If we keep on believing lies without demanding substantiation, then we will refuse to accept truth when we are told.

The effect is that politicians will simply capitalise on our ignorance and do us the more u look, the less u see. A word should be enough for the wise.

Except you live in utopia. Nigeria will always be bias, but the CAN simply stated facts..ideally it should be humanity first without ethno/religious consideration.But that is impossible in nigeria.

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is not proactive enough and this kills our spirit. I remember the days of Cardinal Okogie and Mbang when Government were put on thier toes by robust engagement by the leadership of CAN. We must get back to that golden era by defending Christian interest anywhere and everywhere against the present JAJANWEED Ideological Government in Nigeria. Jesus is Lord Forever!
