being the first or last doesnt make any difference for now cos nigerian subscribers are nt really enjoying what the paid for because of sluggish network of our internet providers and inconsistency. its better that we are last and thereby getting what we paid for.

Have you noticed that virtually all the telcos, GSM or CDMA, have rolled out consumer Internet offerings pan-Nigeria? There are also a lot of ISP competitors who have rolled out cheap CPE solutions on WiMAX or FWA.
The only challenge we have yet is the bandwidth to the outside world, which hopefully should improve with MainOne and Glo's Glo One cable. Next year will definitely be interesting for Internet professionals. Even in East Africa, lots of capacity is expected via Seacom.
In 2006, BBC reported that 61% of their global WAP traffic was coming from Nigeria. We should soon outstrip Egypt by sheer force of numbers, and offerings.
