If you are spending 100 Naira everyday, it will take you 27 years before you can exhaust 1 million Naira. It will also take more than 27 years for you to finish 100 million Naira, provided you are spending 10,000 Naira every day!
In the case of Yakubu Andrew, he must be spending 167 million Naira everyday for his stolen 4.5 billion Naira to be exhausted in the next 30 years! At 62 years old, the "Iyan of Atyap" can never exhaust his stolen money till his death, neither can his children. Only the financing of war can exhaust such amounts of money in a quick time!
Corruption has been killing us since independence and it will continue to kill us. Today, many good homes have collapsed, a lot of sick people are in the hospital waiting to die because they couldn't get just 10, 000 Naira to buy drugs. Hunger is everywhere. Many young men and women are in prison for stealing a tuber of yam because of hunger! While road accidents due to bad roads have claimed millions of lives. Yet our Legislators have refused to pass death sentence on corruption!
Yakubu Andrew and his likes, and indeed all cases of corruption , must be given a China and Iran Treatment if we must survive. As a reminder:
Late Zheng Xiyaou was the Director of the China Food and Drug Administration from 2003 to 2005. In May 2007, Zheng was convicted of taking bribes. His corrupt practices, amounted to $850,000 (270 million Naira) was believed to have led to the death of 40 persons. He was sentenced to death by a Trial court in Beijing. The trial took less than 2 years and he was executed on the 10th July 2007!
In Iran, Babaji Zanjani, a 40-year old billionaire and businessman was also sentenced to death by hanging for corruption in the excess of $2 billion. He shortchanged his country's in oil deals at a difficult time.
But in Nigeria, the poor Nigerian youths who are the victims are busy celebrating and protecting their thieves with their lives. They are quick to kill those who steal garri ,plantains , motorcycles, yams, and other petty materials.
I will be least surprised if by tomorrow, Nigerian youths are marching the streets for Yakubu Andrew to become a Governor, or even, a President!

I agree with the OP completely our warm attitude towards corruption suspects is what emboldens them.
And we can find our first solution by electing new set of political leaders who can then make the right laws for us.
All those protesters for example let Tufsce, Charleyboy, Sowore and their likes form a new party and contest themselves, then they can hijack the legislative arm of government and enact the right laws.
Protesting and hoping these our present crop of politicians would do the right thing is a wishful thinking.
As a popular saying goes, you want something done do it yourself!

Bros I tire o! I think d entire country needs a reset.
The governor of d year is involved in a massive bribe scandal, while cultist continue to behead pple up and dwn in his state.

DSS is busy arresting someone accused of reporting the Kaduna killings while leaving the perpetrators to roam freely.

Politicians are busy spending scarce resources to pay homage to a president who believes only a foreign doctor can do a proper check Up and medical tests.
