Its like this is been done on percentage allocation... Cos some states maintain same admittance rate irrespective of the number of the candidates that year...

I thought some people from a certain region get admission with just three marks, how come not all of them are admitted.
On a more serious note Nigerian academy is overrated.

Foreigners don't get admission in Nigeria from what I see here.
Not enough room for us Nigerians not to talk of outsiders.

Hmm. I am more interested in the percentage of students admitted. Why are Northern states comparatively favoured in this critical aspect?

Dull states like Adamawa, Kebbi, Zamfara, et al... How the heck do they have higher percentages of admitted students even though they have dramatically lower numbers of applicants?

This statistic to a good extent also helps to show states with higher indigenous populations.

Imo state has always been the highest not because they go to school more than other southernerns but because they have a higher population of indigenes. For the core-north it is a different story.

This statistic reflects according to your state of origin and not the state where one sat for the examination.

So, people from Imo or Delta state should know that their states have higher population of Indigenes than others and not necesarily a higher resident or scholarly population. Cos i can see many people with pure misconceptions of these statistics commenting rubbish all over.

FCT does not have many indigenes. Sokoto and Zamfara are real states and they are the educational failures who dont go to school here, but FCT indigenes just occupy only 5 LGAs, they are very small in population.

You sound like someone that didn't go through school.
The list is for people that get first batch admission. Every of those students eventually get admission through one way or the other. Some change courses, some change schools, some travel out, some go to private schools.

because they have their own state and federal universities, polythecnics and colleges in their own states which consider their own people first when it comes to admission.

The problem with Imo state is that the state has a high population of indigenes. This is why i think the south-east needs an additional state.

Not so true. Anambra has far more indigenous population than any State in Southeast followed by Imo but not too closely.
