MY FELLOW NLANDERS' IS IT JUST ME OR HAVE YOU ALSO HEARD ABOUT THE RECENT POLICY THAT THE NIGERIA CUSTOM SERVICE HAS PUT IN PLACE TO GENERATE REVENUE FOR THE COUNTRY.

IN-CASE YOU HAVEN'T HEARD OF THIS POLICY, IT IS ALL ABOUT ENSURING THAT EVERY VEHICLE ON THE NIGERIAN ROAD IS CUSTOM CERTIFIED WITH AN ORIGINAL CUSTOM DUTY LEVY PAID ON THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS A VERY GOOD POLICY, BUT IT HAS BEEN BREWING SO MANY CONTROVERSIES......

NOW THE MAIN QUESTIONS OR CONTROVERSIES IN THIS POLICY IS AS FOLLOWS

1. NO MATTER HOW OLD YOUR VEHICLE IS, YOU MUST HAVE A TRUE COPY OF CUSTOMS DUTY OR RISK BEEN IMPOUNDED.

2. THERE ARE ONLY FOUR ZONES IN THE COUNTRY WHERE ONE CAN CHECK IF HIS CUSTOMS DUTY PAPER IS A CERTIFIED COPY.

3. WHY COME OUT WITH SUCH A POLICY NOW KNOWING FULL WELL THE COUNTRY'S QUAGMIRE?

4. IT SEEMS ALL THE FEDERAL AGENCIES ARE IN A BATTLE FOR THE MOST REVENUE GENERATED POLICY, IMAGINE JUST IN THIS YEAR, NAFDAC, FRSC AND NOW CUSTOMS ARE LOOKING FOR A WAY TO GENERATE REVENUE.

5. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT GOT THERE VEHICLE FROM A 3RD HAND PARTY?

6. SHOULD THE CITIZENS BE MEANT TO PAY FOR THE LACKADAISICAL ATTITUDE OF THE NIGERIA CUSTOMS IN NOT CARRYING OUT THEIR DUTIES FROM DAY ONE?

WE NEED ANSWERS?

Myndd44 plz do the needful to educate millions of Nigerians on this issue as so many people are unaware of this new policy by the Nigeria Customs Service...

Meanwhile they have slated an expiration date for all check on customs duty of vehicles to the 13th of April next month, of which failure to either cross check or get a valid custom duty paper would lead to your Car been impounded by the Nigeria Customs Service...
