Hello designlanders, we promised to update with some site pictures of a twin two bedroom flat for a nairalander sometime ago, but the client has been gracious enough to do a review[a positive one at that], while we were busy on site. We are so grateful for that. We will be posting site progress pictures now for the benefit of those who do not like following links, hoping you will one day join the list of our satisfied clients.

Please bear in mind there was an existing foundation of a 'top of the head design', if you know what that means. That had to be tactically cleared off while working out the new.

Next is SETTING OUT AND DIGGING [around the existing, so as to salvage some of the block work. Others that didn't align with the new design were converted to rubble for foundation filling]

Time for some FILLING [with laterite] in preparation for the german floor.

More filling and then wetting..while german floor formwork is constructed

And then ramming of the laterite for proper settlement and we are set for GERMAN FLOOR. Ofcourse with our damp proof membrane to prevent rising damp phenomenon.

NOTE: DPM absolutely important, if you must avoid rising damp and its resultant paint flaking effect as well as foul odour. If you miss this, you can only surface dress at best. The only solution will be demolition. Remember, if the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do? DPM dont cost much. Its waterproof nylon and if you even have to cover the entire floor area, you cant spend up to N50k on it. So, why not?

And the OVERSITE CONCRETE is poured
