It's called classic. I could buy it if I have over 700million naira in my account. Although I would have preferred a 1977 or 1983 Mercedez Benz

Godbless you jare! This is exactly what was running through my mind. I have been looking for a very clean 1982 Mercedes Benz in Ibadan for a while now.

Is it an automatic? Check the gear lever in the 3rd pix. I will buy it if I have the cash. I prefer the aka monk
ey (the hand gear and not the floor gear lever) type.

What a vintage car? It reminds me of my NYSC days from Abuja Jabi garage to Jega town in Kebbi.

The Citroen DS killed it for me in Classic Cars. Released in the 50's but more aerodynamic and stylish than some of today's cars. Saw a couple of them in Lagos in the 70's.

I would dole out 6 million Naira for it if I had the money, and if the car was in pristine condition.

Wow! You got so many likes already.

We don't wish for dents on our cars but it comes anyway. It's then you'll know modern car manufacturers shortchange us; how fixed dents look on modern cars and on that piece of iron.

There are so many 504s in eastern Nigeria, selling for less than N250,000= in mint condition, why would i shell out N6m for it?

The spec shown here is American spec, you hardly see GL wagon with automatic in Nigeria.

Yea.maybe when it makes the vintage class and become very rare.but right now.its all over the place been used to haul garri in many local markets.
It is not vintage yet, actually. The vehicle is still much in use and at most motor park garages in Nigeria. It is rugged and serves it's owners well, I presume.

My father tells me this is one of the best cars he has ever drove
I really struggle to understand it. Cos he even says all dem modern SUVs, by Toyota and Honda are nothing comparable to the Peugeot 504.
He bought it in 1980 chassis and drove it for 20 solid years

Yes, you can buy it and don't even bother paying the duty as this one would be excused from the recent custom policy on duty for vehicles. Lol!

But if you have any other car whose duty hasn't been paid or not valued correctly, you can just read below and contact me. Let us take advantage of this grace period.

The federal government through the Nigeria Custom Service has issued an ultimatum for all vehicles plying Nigerian roads and within the geographical confines of Nigeria to have valid and correctly paid custom duty. Failing to comply with this directive, vehicles without valid paid custom duty risk impound and the owners prosecution.

The government has issued a grace period of one month ( March 13th - April 12th ) for all owners of vehicles without valid paid custom duty to approach any of the Nigeria Custom zonal command and validate their customs duty document.

For enquiries and assistance, quote or call 07035916733.

I can assist with verifying the validity of your custom duty paper and processing of valid customs duty for any defaulting vehicle.

Once again, for enquiries and assistance, quote or call 07035916733.

Do you remember the days of Bendel Line that later split into Edo Line and Delta Line? I think Edo Line became more fun to travel with than Delta Line. They had a larger fleet of cars with more interesting drivers who would criss-cross from Lagos to Port Harcourt with admirable driving skills. The way those guys used to dodge potholes at Ore and Patani express, no be for here. Even their downshifts will make you feel like you are in a rally race. Every road trip was more like a competition.

If remember all this, it is almost certain you’ll be in love with this 1980s Peugeot 504 station wagon. But do you love it to the extent of paying ₦6million for it?

This model is one of Peugeot’s most iconic and served the company for about 14 years. Even Peugeot’s ending production at Sochaux couldn’t kill the 504, as assembly plants in Nigeria and Kenya continued to sell them using knocked-down-parts.

I was not surprised when I saw some available for sale above $10,000. Would you pay that much for a 1982 504?

Tell us in the comment section..

Peugeot best line is what I'm looking for.

No I wouldn't.
I had a not-too-serious accident in it in 1988 with some members of my extended family , while travelling from Kafanchan to Osogbo. Though was the well balanced vehicle though.
Memories!
