For these African leaders sleeping in public functions is something they find easy to do as counting one to ten.

For the sake of this article we are talking a look at people who head countries or organisations in Africa, hence state governors or rulers of provinces are excluded.

1. Issa Hayatou (Former CAF President)
A legendary dozer in Africa. The former CAF president was defeated in the 2017 elections by Ahmad Ahmad and it safe to say he would have enough time to sleep.

Even fans called for him to go sleep as he seems to enjoy sleeping at function and not his hotel rooms or his house.

Jacob Zuma

The president of South Africa is another legendary dozer. Back in 2016, while South African Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan was giving his his mid-term budget speech in Parliament, Zuma thought he escaped the eyes of the media to catch a quick nap. Boy was he wrong.

Robert Mugabe

What needs to be said about the legendary dictator of Zimbabwe. His witty and quotable lines are a favorite around the world while his ability to doze off is off the hook.

Olusegun Obasanjo

Obj looks like someone close to losing his guard and dozing off. This picture illustrates all baba probably thinks about daily. Perhaps he is thinking, "I'll rather be in my Ota Farm instead of here. grin

Moses Alli

He is the First deputy prime minister and deputy leader of government business in Parliament in Uganda.

While listening to the state of union address in 2016, he wore shades in a rather dark hall and it was obvious he had dozed off.

Yoweri Museveni

Uganda's president like his deputy is another who has been caught on camera sleeping numerous times.

At one point the government banned local media from airing photos and videos of the president sleeping with a spokesperson saying the president was meditating not sleeping.

Anyim Pius Anyim is a legendary sleeper

Stop Sleeping In Public, PDP Chairman Mu'azu Scolds SGF Pius Anyim

teemanbastos:
Guests and leaders of the Peoples
Democratic Party were stunned on
Thursday when the new National
Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu
Mu'azu, specifically urged the
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. Pius Anyim,
to learn not to sleep during public
events.

Mu'azu was speaking when leaders
of the party from Ebonyi State visited
him and the leadership of the party
to pay homage and wish him well
following his election. The group was led by the governor,
Martin Elechi, who spoke on behalf of
the delegation from his state, which
included Anyim, Minister of
Health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, and
some other political office holders from the state.

But while Mu'azu was replying, he
looked over at Anyim, who had
already dozed off, and immediately
confronted the burly SGF. "Mr. Anyim, I hope you have not
started doing what you like doing
best,” Mu'azu said, making the
motions of a dozing person.

The laughter that followed from the
audience woke up the sleeping SGF. It was gathered that even as Senator Anyim often fell asleep on the floor of
the House, an action that made the
late Chuba Okadigbo, at that time the
Senate President, to scold him on one
occasion. Witnesses recall that the scolding
followed an instance when Anyim,
suddenly woke up from his usual
sleep and without knowing the topic
being discussed, shouted that he
wanted to make contribution.

An angry Okadigbo then asked
Anyim whether he knew what was
being discussed, to which Anyim just
smiled, provoking general laughter
among the Senators.

Sleeping, sleeping leaders!

No wonder everything is always in sleeping mode during their tenure and in most African countries!

All these sleeping leaders are obviously tired for the works ahead of them, but because of their quest and greed of power, they won't allow the capable ones to lead, they would rather die there!

As someone said, white leaders also sleep at public functions.

I watched a programme years ago, where the subject of discuss was Clinton and how he lies, even in his sleep. To prove that, they played a video of someone giving a speech, and Clinton sleeping and nodding his head intermittently at what the person was saying. grin

#funny thread though.

I was no effort at all, plentiful amount of photos of white leaders sleeping indeed leaders of all ethnicity sleeping exists, so for op to target only Africans shows me the op is probably non-African or even black despite his profile and has a sinister agenda on these forums.
