He has been parading himself as a professor and ph.D holder, and fueled by Yorubaa media who addresses him as such but THERE IS NO SINGLE EVIDENCE OF Vice President Osinbanjo having received a Ph.d in law or related field nor attained the highest rank in the academia "professor". Receipt of a Ph.D degree is a prerequisite for attaining the highest rank as a professor in addition to several yrs of teaching, research and publications. The question is why does Osinbanjo parade himself as a professor when he was merely a lecturer without Ph.D? The highest degree verified that the Vice President holds is Masters Degree in Law!

@OP, you are obviously ignorant of the fact that in very rare occasions, a distinguished scholar can become a Prof without a PhD. Are you aware that Prof Wole Soyinka doesn't have a PhD also? In such a rare case, the individual cannot supervise a PhD student or sit among panel of examiners to assess a PhD candidate. Osinbajo and UNILAG would've only committed an academic crime if he's allowed to supervise or assess a PhD candidate.

And mind you this is not peculiar to Nigeria. That's why you 'll discover that many academics in developed nations will write their names as Prof. (Dr.) xyz. What they intend to inform you in such instance is that they are professors with PhDs. In another case, you can have someone write his name as follows: "Prof. John Kabiru, PhD". This also conveys a message as earlier explained.
