EMPHATIC STRESS
All u need to know about emphatic stress is that it tries to test the communication linkage between the writer and the listener. Now note that wen u r given a question that has a noun to be its emphatic phrase,u simply change that noun to either another noun or to a pronoun word. If the emphatic phrase word is a verb,simply change it to another verb and so on.Examples-
(1) Aunty Olamide bought me a BICYCLE. The answer becomes; Did aunty Olamide buy a pen. In the above sentence u will notice that bicycle has been changed to pen.
(2) The president SPOKE to the press. The answer becomes; Did the president write to the press?
(3) My MOTHER served rice and fresh stew for the dinner. The answer becomes; Who served rice and stew for dinner? Now u will notice in the third example that the noun word 'MOTHER'has been changed to a pronoun word 'who'.

Now do these.
ASA is a lawyer. A. Is Asa a robber? B. Who is a lawyer? C. Is Asa the lawyer? D. Was Asa the lawyer?

Probably A

A note is called octave of anorher note when..

(a) its frequency is twice that of the first note
(b) its frequency is half that of the first note
(c) the notes have the same frequency
(d) its periodic time is twice that of the first note

No. That's when g(acceleration due to gravity) acts on it. So it's greater

It depends only on the length L of the string and the value of the gravitational field strength g. But its confusing from here. Where we have length and the force of acceleration due to gravitt. But I for chose that b. The question should be modified. Thanks.

'The Period(T) depends only on the mass m, and the force or elastic constant K. It does not depend on the amplitude of motion or on the value of g at the point.'

Four cells with osmotic potential equivalent to that of 3% salt solution were immersed respectively in solutions
of different concentrations labeled as follows: I = 4% salt solution; II = 6% salt solution III = 1% salt solution;
IV = 10% salt solution; V = 5% salt solution. Which of the solutions will cause an increase in osmotic
pressure within the cell
? undecided

Seriously that question is somewhat

Is the new pressure and volume suppose to be 4PV or 4P4V?

P1v1/t1 = p2v2/t2
1/298 = 16/t2
Cross multiply and u will get the answer to be 4768

still doesnt seem to solve the question. Only area was given in the question. Where do we get the length??

Density of water=1000kgm-³ or 1gcm-³
Mass of wood= 40g
Area of wood = 2cm²

Mass/Lxbxh
40/2L=1
1x2L=40
L=40/2
L=20cm

A man of weight 880 N stands a distance x from end A. The ground exerts a vertical force FA on the plank at end A and a vertical force FB on the plank at end B.
As the man moves along the plank, the plank is always in equilibrium.The man stands a distance x = 0.50 m from end A. Use the principle of moments to
calculate the magnitude of FB.
{cambridge may/jun 2014 p21 q3}

First Moment formula Upward forces=downward forces
F(a) + F(b) = 880 +200

Second moment formula clockwise = anticlockwise

We have two pivots( A and B) but we'll use one first. Preferably A since we're looking for B

Moment at A
880 x 0.5 + 200 x 2.5 = F(b) x 5
440 + 500 =5F(b)
940/5 = F(b)
F(b)=188N

We can go ahead and calculate F(a) using the first equation for moment

F(a) + F(b) = 880 + 200
F(a) + 188 =1080
F(a) =1080 - 188
F(a) =892N
