They had gathered to pray for President Umar Musa Yar’Adua. But the hitherto peaceful prayer session turned into a free-for-all, following attempts allegedly by the organizers to short change the rented crowd that had gathered for the prayer session.

Minutes after hundreds of youth finished answering amen to prayers offered for President Umar Musa Yar’adua health on Wednesday in Kaduna, they turned violent, as they were seen dragging the Director of the prayer event, one Abdulfatai, demanding for the amount of money they were promised to be paid at the end of the event.

However, the crisis was quickly brought under control as Abdulfatai was seen disbursing money to the youths in group just as the premises of the Arewa House auditorium, venue of the occasion was stinking with odour believed to be hemp, which was suspected to have been smoked by the rampaging youths.

Earlier, the men of God, Alhaji Abdullahi Gambo and Rev. Samuel Ibidemi from Jamatu Nasir Islam (JNI) and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) respectively asked God to give the president quick recovery to enable him come back to the country before next month.

They also called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the president in their respective places of worship.
Also, the chairman of the prayer session, Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Umar in his speech said, “Though the country is currently under the watchful eyes of the Federal Executive Council under the competent leadership of his Excellency Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, those of us in Kaduna feel that the only help we can render to Mr. President is to organize multi-religious and multi-denominational prayer session to pray and indeed cry to the Almighty Allah, the Sole Healer to cure him and give him sound health and strength.”

This right here is a representation of IMO the two most pressing issues in our country today: the presidency and the decision of a few to hold the entire nation at ransom, and religious leaders who have 'back-patted' the system for too long without using their positions of influence and material wealth to effect change.

Prayer, prayer, prayer for all the illogical reasons. This is an example of what I have been saying to my friends; The psyche of the average nigerian has been seiously destroyed by these unscrupulous politicians and fake pastors.

God does not have time for Nigerians prayers! Our prayers smells b4 God,,,,There re better and more seriuos countries who pray to God for help,,,and God is busy trying to answer those countries prayers,,,,Today,,God just answered a Prayer in the USA,,,,and the prayer is about the long awaited Health care bill,,,
Nigerians as a people deserve the kind of leadership they have,,,Leaders that would ask them to pray when they are suppose to act,,,

I don't think I can laugh any longer at the ridiculousness of Nigeria without developing a serious medical condition. Nigeria as the backdrop of a comedic film would be dynamite.
