5) Lil Kesh - This dude practically has little to nothing to offer musically.. With below par lyrics, childish delivery on topics relating to sexual acts and mostly noisy beats, one can say Lil kesh barely survived on the hype of YBNL ..This can be seen in his three singles released after his exit from YBNL,kojo, shele Gan Gan and fake love, all 3 singles not performing to expectation not forgetting his highly forgettable ( pun intended ) debut album, YAGI ...

4) Ycee - Zaheer as he is fondly called is another very overated act...His lyrical prowess can be no where compared to the likes of poe,ozone,Yung6ix and even Erigga..The act who has been using his rapsy voice to gain a edge ,may be surely talented but at the same time ,highly overrated compared to the crop of Rappers out here in Nigeria grinding..

3) Ice Prince - Former choc city act , Ice prince... I find it very hard to believe he actually won a BET award...With wack ass flows like ' I shit in twos ,poo poo...'. one cannot but wonder how the act has managed to acquire a large fan base and selling out shows ...

2) Davido
- Yes. ,Davido is very very overrated..Apart from the obviously poor vocal ability, we all know how he comes about his songs including his latest single. The artists has been using nothing but money, influence and connection to force his songs on Nigerians ..If u doubt me, search davido Tim Westwood freestyle on Google and see for yourself.

1) Mr Eazi - The most overrated artiste I know of as to be Mr Eazi.. With an astounding lack of musical surprise and monotonous delivery , How the act managed to gain a huge following with his weak lines and burns boy like vibes remains a surprise ..

These are the five most overrated artists in Nigeria and I hope they prove their talents soonest ..

why is wizkid better than davido? Beats? Lyrics? Voice? Or what?
If it's beats you have nothing to justify your claim because they work with good producers.
If it's lyrics they are no better than each other except wizkid of superstar album maybe and maybe joy in his last album
If it's voice, there are so many artistes like that and voice is not the only that makes you a good musician I didn't say singer.
They are all almost the same except few Brymo and this new guy Johnny drille

[Chris Brown]
Doggy want the kitty
Give me a heart attack and throw it back
Now watch me get it
And I knew thiss but you the poo
Damn, girl you pretty
Blowing out your candles, let me make a couple wishes

Agreed both of them fall under the category of non-inspiring songs, Which of the two lyrics above one could still manage to make a sense out of in terms having meaning (though sort of vulgar) and not just muddling up words and sentences that are not even remotely related.
I mean if you for example, study three lines of each, which one has a complete meaning and which one sounds like that of 2-year old child who just started leaning how to mutter words.

OK. For clarity, imma combine the first 5 lines of each song to form a sentence.

MAJORITY OF NIGERIAN SUPPOSED LOVE SONGS SHOULD CARRY A CAVEAT ; PLS DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME

Gone are those days you'd copy a love song and use it words for words to ask that your secondary school classmate out. Days of ; All my life by KC&JOJO, unbended knee, BoyzIImen.... Guess what? It never failed. Say it and watch her smiling even chuckling, going back to her hostel gushing about it with her friend and next day you see them all admiring you. Pls go ahead and use those ones pasted above on a lady, I could only imagine the reaction that would follow .

FACT:
MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE THAT WOULD CLAIM THEY LOVE ANY OF THESE SONGS CAN'T PROUDLY SAY WHAT PARTICULAR MESSAGE THEY CARRY. THEY ONLY GET TO LOVE IT AS A RESULT OF FONDNESS GROWN FOR IT THROUGH CONSTANT AIRPLAY. The more you hear a song the more you grow fond of it. Also many people that would not see any thrash in these songs are those ones that go to beer palor or clubs all the time. When you constantly listen to songs under the influence of alcohol, you'd definitely have nothing against it but love it.

your analysis is just out of this world, you killed it, nailed it and finally buried it.
it takes people who are sane and wise to decode your analysis...
its quire unfortunate we celebrate mediocrity, noise and senseless lyrics in the name of wanting to feel the groove,[ music]
hence we producing dumb children, teenagers and adult alike...

keep it up...twale for you...
one love

cheesy Aha! The other day I was watching video wheels or views and tunes? I can't remember the program but they were analyzing runtown's "mad over you". Temmy(of cool FM I think) said we take Nigerian artists too serious ,most of them do music for the vibes and for the money nothing more. When lil kesh became popular, Ehiz of MTV asked him what he thought about those who criticised his music because of the lyrics. Dude said he didn't care as long as the money was rolling in then all is well. See? We have few artists who truly love music in Nigeria, most are just entertainers who're in it for the money.Trust me if juju music starts selling tomorrow, these artists will not hesitate to switch. Look at olamide, when I heard his first song I thought " wow" but now he's singing pepper dem gang, what the mess?
Finally it all boils down to our society, it's a Nigerian thing- we love and revel in mediocrity
mad over you is very good...with good lyrics..not the best but really good.

GetUMad, with the way you showcase your abhorrence for Nigerian artistes, I want to assume you are a fan of their foreign counterparts.

You don't like Olamide. He has meaningless lyrics. If you can analyse the wordings of 2 songs by Lil' Wayne and Tyga, then I will rest my case.

If you can't come up with even one, then you are just another hypocrite. No offense intended.

Bro, I never in my whole statements said at any point that their foreign counterpart is better. When one criticises our indigenous mediocres doesn't mean one is placing preference over the international ones. That's the mistake whole lot of you are making. Let's call a spade what it is. I don't give a hoot whoever the artist is, Nigerian or foreign. I'm allergic to senseless songs. However, my point still remains if you give me 5 songs with a relatable lyrics then decide to shun out 3 below par, I would easily excuse you. No one is perfect. But how do you want to rate an artist as Eazi and Tecno that if we are to copy all their songs lyrics here, without any form of sentiments, one would agree, though they may have danceable vibes, nonetheless they're wack. You get? And back to your issue of Lil Wayne or whatever you call it, let me disappoint you, I am not a fan. As a matter of fact I don't listen to him with any admiration. Not only him, many of them out there, so so many of those new international lil-Wayne wanna-bes. What is Panda panda panda? Isn't it popular worldwide? Does it make it any less senseless? I only chose to reply you cos I found your response matured compared to others. Someone was even asking me if I ever bought any Nigerian CD in my life? Just imagine that kind of question. I have Adekunle Gold, Phyno's Album in my car. Also got all classic collections of Asa, Tu face, Style-plus and many other talented Artists
.

For those of you who still wish to quote me. I repeat, if you can't have at least 40% meaningful or averagely sensible songs in your entire production, danceable beats or not, YOU'RE A MEDIOCRE. Is it all 2 faces songs that are sensible? What is " enter the place" compared to ifune ibaga? But of course we can easily excuse those ones. For every rubbish songs Tu face, Phyno, Olamide, Asa, Timi Dakolo, Praiz, Bez, Brymo, Wande Coal and host of others might sing, one would still be able to bring out few other ones that are sensible in their name.

You're so right.
for instance, the first time I heard pana, I hated it and I still think it's a terrible senseless song but then everywhere I go, it's been played, I did not know when I started to move to the beats and mime the lyrics.

but I would never have it in my playlist.

I have less than 15 Naija songs on my playlist. Brymo being the dominant artist.
