Terrorism Suspect Had Privileged Upbringing.  The man accused of trying to blow up Flight 253 came from an elite family and attended top schools. But he wanted something else

After reading this article, I have to ask:-  Are parents doing enough to protect their children from peer pressure? How do parents know that the advices their friends give will be in line with theirs.  Should parents be held responsible for their children's behaviour?

Brainwashed and a crowd "pleaser". The problem is, he couldn't stand up to his parents teaching hence he was unable to recognize the harm he was doing to himself and his country.

It takes alot of monitoring for children not to fall for peer pressure.........many teenage girls had been disvirgined at very tender age that their parents could be ever imagined and no thanks to peer pressure, they indulged in it mainly because pressure and not they wanted at that age, ditto of guys drinking and smoking.

It’s not enough to be sent to the best schools or be given the best of clothings, shelters, or best games… If parents are not well informed in the area of raising offsprings their children will be well deformed.

There are virtues that must be inculcated into every child while they still can be inculcated. And these are the topmost duties of parents aside foods, shelter, and clothings. These virtues are part of education (feeding them the right information when necessary without meanness) So, when they get exposed wrongly they’re able to make good or right decisions.

For instance, the Bible teaches us that:

1. Proverbs 1:8 My son, hear the instruction of your father; reject not nor forsake the teaching of your mother.
Which means there must be virtues inculcated.

2. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. ' (Prov. 22:6.) Which means these virtues will be a solid guide for the child when he or she is grown.

inculcation simply means, to teach and impress by frequent repetitions or admonitions.

Child training could be compare with building an enterprise, some survives and others dies, both depending on the CEO/MD

So, parents are to be held responsible for what they have raised.

Peer pressure is way stronger than parental guidance.

The pull eh, the herd instinct, the allure....
Thank God I retraced my steps.

You see the peer pressure ehn, one of the strongest agent of socialisation as a child grows. Family can only do their best, its left for the child to determine if they will allow external(Eg Peer pressure) make him/her deviate from what the family taught them.

Some people have never received birthday cakes in their lives.

A black boy wept profusely after his adopted white parents surprised him with his first ever cake on his birthday.

He tearfully hugged his white dad and mum in appreciation and didn't know he was to make a wish before blowing out the candles.

It was too emotional for him. So sweet!
