Re: Have You Seen Avatar?! by Seun(m): 2:00am On Jan 05, 2010
Loved it. Absolutely. Haven't loved a movie this much since Iron Man. Better than District 9.
Re: Have You Seen Avatar?! by kay9(m): 9:54am On Jan 05, 2010
Oh pls Seun, D-9 sucked - as in, major. Sure the plot was okay - karma coming to visit the baddie; the evils of discrimination, and all that - but the film as a whole. . . . oh Lordy Lord! undecided Unless you're comparing it to Nollywood products grin grin

@V: c'mon dude, is it cos i rarely hang out here? Okay from now on, you'll see me in action.

@marocguy: bros nawa for you. Piracy isn't somfin to be proud of o.

Re: Have You Seen Avatar?! by eyoniggar(m): 6:08am On Jan 07, 2010
I heard its the best movie of 2009 from many.
So I wouldnt doubt that fact.

But it seems stillwater is the only person that has seen the movie in 3D.

I would not want to watch it without the 3d effects, which I actually doubt exist in Nija here.

Anybody got info about that?
Re: Have You Seen Avatar?! by chika98: 6:12am On Jan 07, 2010

Avatar was visually stunning. 'Avatar' has a better storyline than that of '2012'.

avatar is JUST like Ferngully (one of my favorite Disney movies 4rm 1992)

FernGully is not a Disney movie. It was released by 20th Century Fox.
Re: Have You Seen Avatar?! by manmustwac(m): 7:55pm On Jan 09, 2010
I give avatar 10 out of 10. The film rocks. But the film did make me think of the native americans and what the Americans did to them during the conquest of America.

Re: Have You Seen Avatar?! by eyoniggar(m): 2:38pm On Jan 10, 2010
2012 is bullcrap.

I saw the review on district 9 when it just came out
but just saw the move like 2 weeks ago. To me I fink the
movie was alright. But there was too many Nigerian bashing
in the movie, I just wonder why.

Does any1 fink there's gonna be a continuation? Since
the alien that took off with the mothership claimed
he was gonna be back in 3 years to fix the guy that was
transforming into an alien. Please any1 with info shud feed me
back.

Fans shed tears and have suicidal thoughts after watching James Cameron's Avatar. Wahala dey.

Re: Have You Seen Avatar?! by JeSoul(f): 6:14pm On Jan 12, 2010
^^ Quotes from the link:
James Cameron's completely immersive spectacle "Avatar" may have been a little too real for some fans who say they have experienced depression and suicidal thoughts after seeing the film because they long to enjoy the beauty of the alien world Pandora.

"Ever since I went to see 'Avatar' I have been depressed. Watching the wonderful world of Pandora and all the Na'vi made me want to be one of them. I can't stop thinking about all the things that happened in the film and all of the tears and shivers I got from it," Mike posted. "I even contemplate suicide thinking that if I do it I will be rebirthed in a world similar to Pandora and the everything is the same as in 'Avatar.' "
. . .

"When I woke up this morning after watching Avatar for the first time yesterday, the world seemed ,  gray. It was like my whole life, everything I've done and worked for, lost its meaning," Hill wrote on the forum. "It just seems so ,  meaningless. I still don't really see any reason to keep ,  doing things at all. I live in a dying world." . . .

"One can say my depression was twofold: I was depressed because I really wanted to live in Pandora, which seemed like such a perfect place, but I was also depressed and disgusted with the sight of our world, what we have done to Earth. I so much wanted to escape reality," Hill said. . . .

"After discussing on the forums for a while now, my depression is beginning to fade away. Having taken a part in many discussions concerning all this has really, really helped me," Hill said. "Before, I had lost the reason to keep on living -- but now it feels like these feelings are gradually being replaced with others."
*where's the icon for rolling on the floor in uncontrolable laughter* oh yes there it is . . .

Have seen it 4 times and will still see it again. The movie is da bomb!
What really thrilled me is how emotional the film was and how the emotions masked the 3D technology used in the film. Much emphasis was not on the technology, which is actually the first of its kind, but on the storyline. To be candid, that movie deserves the 2009 Movie of the Year and the Lady who played Netyri should be nominated the Best Female Artist.
