It's not JAGABAN but JAGABA. The "n" at the end of "Jagaba" is possessive. Its turns the noun Jagaba into an adjective, hence it qualifies the noun "Jagaba".

Since its Afonjas that make most of this blunder. I will sight an Afonja example:

It is "Asiwaju" and not "Asiwajuof", right? Whenever u say 'Asiwaju of', u must then include the object, else, the clause is incomplete.

More examples. Sarkin Kano = King/Emir of Kano. But, he is a Sarki (without the Kano) = he is a King! And just as one cannot say, he is "Sarkin" alone without the predicate Kano, one cannot say Jagaban (alone)without the predicate Borgu/Adamawa or anywhere as the case may be.

So, please and please STOP saying Jagaban instead of Jagaba. And if you must say Jagaban, ensure that you include the object Borgu/Adamawa or any other applicable kingdom.
