Just a quick look on Wikipedia says Onitsha itself was founded by a Benin prince in the 1500s so there might be some truth to what he's saying. The Benin's through the Ogiso dynasty where the founders of the Yoruba race and the said Oduduwa was actually a Benin Monarch who was banished from Benin at the time and settled in Ife and with his subordinates was able to establish a Kingdom for himself.
