The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose and the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, yesterday, revealed plans to raise support fund for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

The governor had on Tuesday stormed an Abuja Federal High Court in solidarity with Kanu.

Fayose said his support for Kanu was beyond showing solidarity with him in court.

“I’m trying to work with other well-meaning Nigerians to raise funds for Kanu so that he can fund his lawyers and meet his immediate family needs.

“We are going to ensure that the injustice meted out to him does not destroy him.

“He has parents, wife and children to take care of. I appeal to Nigerians to support this just cause.”

Fayose, who is the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governor’s Forum, called on lawyers to join the struggle for his liberation.

“As many lawyers as are willing to fight the oppression, should join the struggle for liberation from the oppression.

Fayose confirmed that Ekwemeradu would be part of the coordinators to steer the fund raising committee.

The account would be raised in Kanu’s name and will belong to him.

“We are just driving the cause. As soon as we receive his account details, it will be made available. The money will be used for him and others in incarceration with him.

“We believe in coexistence of Nigeria. People have the right to agitate for independence. Even in traditional institution, people agitate for autonomy.

“When people agitate and they cannot get it, they drop the idea. It is not for you to silence them. That is oppression. Agitation is legitimate.”“As many as lawyers willing to fight the oppression should join the struggle for liberation from the oppression.

For those of you worried about what will be the aftermath of Fayose's actions, I want you to understand that forces of lies and deception have never defeated the forces of truth anywhere. Fayose is already vindicated in advance. Truth is more powerful than any power anywhere, that's why Nnamdi Kanu said that he will destroy Nigeria with truth, and as you can see he's doing it. God is truth Himself.

At this point,I think Oshokomole should thread softly! There should be a limit to all his Shenanigans!

Fayose is playing the political chess game. He is eyeing a Federal Office in 2019 (president or vice president)and is calculating that the Igbos do not particularly support any politician right now, so he wants to use Kanu to prop his appeal among Igbos. Just as Jonathan did by changing his name to Ebele Azikiwe, Fayose might even adopt Odumegwu as a middle name to appeal to the igbos.

If Fayose can get GEJ supporters, he will hope to split Yoruba votes. The Battle ground would then shift to the middle belt. He Knows he cannot get any support in the north east and north west, except he runs with a strong northern presidential candidate.
