A psychic fatally stabbed himself in the heart while trying to prove his immortality. Clairvoyant Theprit Palee, 25, was performing a folk ritual to honour ancestral spirits when he tried to impress spectators by pressing a sword against his chest in a bid to appear superhuman. But tragedy struck when he accidentally plunged the blade into himself after it failed to snap. Horrified onlookers watched on as crowds of rescuers attempted to revive the spirit but he later died at hospital. The shocking scenes played out in front of spectators in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand on Monday. At least they tried to revive him. If it were to be in Nigeria, everybody would just be staring at him and taking pictures. Sometimes I just wonder how we managed to lose our humanity. |
