Former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has threatened to institute a lawsuit against minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi. Vanguard reports that Fani-Kayode is angry over Amaechi’s comments on Channels TV that Fani-Kayode received two billion naira as bribe when he was minister.
According to sources, the funds, Amaechi claimed, was allegedly transferred by former governor of Rivers state Peter Odili to the Ministry of Aviation to fix Port-Harcourt runway during Fani-Kayode’s tenure.
Fani wrote through his lawyers on Monday, May 1, demanding an apology and also claiming a damage of N5billion. The letter said that Amaechi ridiculed Fani-Kayode by ‘his remarks, in the eyes of right thinking members of the society; and these remarks have been found to be false and slanderous.’ see more
