Senator Andy Uba's focus on ensuring that women continue to play a major role in the society and in governance and his continuous drive in putting them first has earned him the recognition from the South East Professional Women Association of Nigeria And Diaspora, the group which visited the distinguished Senator at the National Assembly Complex recognized his contributions towards the development of the South and honoured him with an Award as "DIKE IGBO".

It will be recalled that Andy Uba as Senator was among the senators who voted women-friendly bill and has moved motions that has directly affected the South eastern Nigeria. Some of which include:

- motion for commencement of immediate action on second Niger bridge.

- motion for immediate action and investigation of dead bodies in Ezu River in Anambra State.

- motion for National recognition of the deaths of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, High-Chief Edwin Umezeoke and Prof. Chinua Achebe.

The distinguished Senator while welcoming and thanking the women group promised to continue to represent the interest of south east through attraction of projects and sponsorship of bills and motions that will directly make impact on the lives of Anambrarians and Ndi Igbo in general.
