There has been a spate of arguments and counter-arguments about whether something is an achievement or not. I think there is really no need for this whole discourse since any difficult thing done successfully is an achievement. Note, any difficult thing done successfully IS an achievement. So, a single thing is perhaps an achievement to some people, whereas it is not to others. For instance, marriage to those that want to get married is an achievement IF they finally get married. But for those who do not want to get married(Yes, there are such people), not getting married IS an achievement! You see what I'm talking about? That is why achievement is defined according to http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/achievement as ''something very good and difficult that you have succeeded in doing''.
