This is a simple question though the answer is not of the same. Traces of what to expect in the next election still doesn't field a tangible Igbo presidential candidate. The 2 major political Parties are not thinking in that direction.

When will we have an Igbo president?

Should it necessarily be through chaos? Why can't it just be as others are

Referendum on what actually?
Should Igbos fold their arms and continue to watch their destiny and the utilization of their resources be manipulated?
As far as I don't support secession, though its purpose is mightily justified, they should have other means to fight for their share of rule titles. The truth remains that no top political Igbo personnel is aiming for that post, why's that?

Quality? Since when has that been a prerequisite to being a president in our country?
Re: When Are We Going To Have An Igbo President by Nobody: 12:01pm On May 08, 2017
Former Military president Yakubu Gowon made a statement when he was invited to speak at the 6th Convocation of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. He claimed the purpose behind he waging war against Eastern Independence was as a result of protecting the "false" idea of a colossal united Nigeria.

I do not know how the graduating Igbo students present at the time digested; perhaps, the joy of ending a tiring years - long exercise overshadowed common sense. I'd have asked : How much has the government shown to uphold the idea of 1 big Nigeria? What steps have been taken since the war to show that Nigeria truly has embraced the Easteners not as friends or allies but as brothers. When will they get a place in the table which by the way isn't round as purported?

When you stop diminishing your status as Nigerians by constantly agitating for secession. Why should Nigerians trust you when so many of you show open hatred and scorn for the country? You can't keep referring to the nation as a 'zoo' etc, and yet still be demanding the presidency. Stop distancing yourselves from the Nigerian family, THEN you might get a chance. I mean, what is it? Alex Ekwueme was Vice President in Shagari's govt as far back as 1979. Igbos were being reintegrated into the Nigerian family. Ojukwu himself joined NPN, made up with Gowon, and even became friends with IBB. Then out of nowhere, MASSOB emerged. Now it's Ipob.. Without these useless tribalist, separatist groups, an Igbo guy would by now have emerged president of Nigeria, definitely.

When Igbos respect other ethnicity of the country
When Igbo stop hating on other region, thinking there 5% votes can give them presidency
When Igbos learn not to put all their eggs in one basket

Nigeria, in a bid to cover up all their atrocities against Igbos - including the killing of 60,000 Southerners by Northern civilians and Niegrian army in 1966( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_anti-Igbo_pogrom ) - removed History as a subject in secondary schools.

And then you wonder why Nnamdi Kanu calls Nigeria a zoo? I'm sure even animals in the zoo know their history and origin. So technically, Animals in the zoo > One Nigerians undecided grin

Sadly for you and Kanu, you are all members of the same zoo since you all are still Nigerians in Nigeria and Kanu himself as a zoo animal just spent 2 years inside the zoo prison cage in the same country you call zoo.

The zoo joke is on you.

Btw, you and your people don't know Zik was the first president of Nigeria because they no longer teach history in Nigeria?

Too bad many parents in that part of the country teaches and preaches only hate and bitterness instead of credible history about their people and past leaders.

What is this unity beggar saying? If they used half the money your parents use for owambe to teach you history, by now you must have traced the history of your tribe. Or are you among those that believe Oduduwa /lucifer fell from the sky? cheesy
