The Kano State House of Assembly yesterday raised an eight-man committee to investigate fresh allegations against the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Headed by the Chief Whip and member representing Warawa constituency, Labaran Abdul Masai, the panel is mandated to probe the alleged false claims made by the monarch against the state government to ridicule Governor Adullahi Umar Ganduje.

It is also to look into his alleged ventilation at the President Muhammadu Buhari administration among other accusations. It has 14 days to submit its report.


The decision followed a motion raised during plenary by the representative of Nassarawa constituency, Ibrahim Ahmad Gama, wherein he accused the traditional ruler of going against rules and constituted authority in the state.
He told the House that Sanusi had allegedly tarnished the image of the governor and some members of the Assembly while on an official visit to China. Gana further claimed that the monarch, on that trip, accused the concerned people of financial reckless and wasteful spending of scarce resources.

The lawmaker, who also accused the emir of bringing the emirate into disrepute when he sent his daughter to represent him at an official function in Abuja, equally demanded for a revisit of the N4 billion financial malfeasance earlier levelled against Sanusi. The fund was claimed to have been left behind by his predecessor, the late Alhajo Ado Bayero.

Seconding the motion, the member representing Municipal constituency, Baffa Baba Danagundi, called for a swift action to mitigate the effect of the alleged damage caused by state.

you guys don't really understand what is at play here. Sanusi is loyal to kwankwoso who played pranks with Tinubu's Lagos-Ibadan media to Installed him as an emir while Ganduje is loyal to Buhari. It's actually Abuja that want to frame him up so that kwankwoso will become an 'orphan' all in preparation for 2019.

Those that do not want progress. They prefer the people to remain in the dark so that they can continue to Lord over them.
If they dethrone him, I believe the country will gain from his expertise if he goes into politics.

At least if they sack Emir Sanusi, we can have Sanusi Lamido Sanusi back and we have one of the best brains who might run for President.

I repeat, less forget sentiments and our usual rivalries ..there is no way Nigeria can progress with these set of people leading us.

How dare sanusi criticise almighty Ganduje about his financial recklessness.
To make matters worse, Snausi sent his daughter, a woman, to represent him
when her place is in the kitchen and the other room.

It is clear to all that the northern lords do not want the emancipation of their
slaves(the poor and women), that is why they are fighting back using every means
at their disposal.

Sooner or later, the Al-majiris will demand for a better life.

This country is a complete joke, so the legislative arm of government is suppose to set up a panel to investigate a man for purportedly criticizing an executive arm for financial recklessness and carrying out projects of no positive impact on the people governed.
So whoever should come out to lash the government for its incompetence, a panel should be set up to investigate that person.
so much resources wasted on trivial issues, while the streets are flooded with beggars, unemployable youths, thousands of mosques and churches zero sincerity, only a few hospitals and medical personnel, poor educational system and infrastructure, I can go on and on.
Stupid politicians, they bury their heads in the sand and stand for nothing but re-election.

Once you criticize this government, they lay weak allegation on you.

Pastor Suleiman comes to mind.

One of his offences was sending his brilliant daughter to represent him at a function in abuja. These northern moslems need to come out of their stone-age mentality. People like sanusi that are out to show them the light will always have problems.

Why don't they just wind up the Police, judiciary and other law enforcement agents since friends can be appointed as probe panel members whenever they so wish??
