Sir, you people fail to understand the fundamentals of Christianity. We are not under the law of Moses. We under grace through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. That verse you quoted was a law given to a particular set of people at a particular time. No one knew why that law was given. And judging from the peculiarity of the law, it was probably given because something like that had happened before. Of course there will be domestic violence everywhere. Christians engage in domestic violence. But does that mean that's our way? Let me show you some passages.
Colossians 3:19. - Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
Ephesians 5: 28-29. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,
