Dongreat:

Tramadol is a class of opiate drugs (same family with morphine, oxycodone and codiene). It's usually used as an analgesic (pain reliving).
Dongreat...done great!...knowledge is power. What we need to know...opiate drugs... opium based... pain killers... but addictive. It doesn't matter if prescribed by a doctor...or got from the streets....if used for pain relief, hope of a good sex drive or to feel good... bottom line... it's addictive. Addictive meaning once it gets a hold of your system.... your brain is going to demand it and it will be very hard for you to fight that demand....you become an addict... you have no choice. Some people become addicted and don't even know.... women.. menstrual cramps.... choose addictive opiates for pain relief over traditional herbs.... then the dosage has to be increased to be effective or the pain becomes even more severe than at first. Stay away from pharmaceuticals period.... unless absolutely necessary.
@weed.... weed is not addictive...it's just been abused. For those who still look at weed as being in the same league as addictive drugs.... in the US... weed is increasingly being legalized and is replacing many prescriptive drugs because it is more effective and non addictive. Prescriptive drugs is the #1 cause of drug addiction in the US... how to tackle it is now a government priority. We need to educate ourselves and stop popping pills like candy based on what somebody said.

Agreed. Opiate are fantastic at being analgesic but notorious for addiction and it's the reason why it's administered at a small dose. since it triggers the reward pathway, it will be difficult to control by both pharm companies and government. There are videos of real life people including animations to show the effect of drugs of abuse and it's up to the individual to know when enough is enough.

But that's a problem... by the time the individual thinks enough is enough the brain has already taken control. Cigarettes... smokers can lecture us on how smoking cigarrettes destroys our bodies... and as soon as the lecture is over..he lights up a cigarette. Why?..he is addicted. If we think we have junkies now..... in five years time we would be wishing the number is what it is today. We just need to stay clear of these drugs period.

Lool. Probably they are mixing the drug with another that may be generic for viagra. Tram just depress you and kill whatever pain you are feeling. Taking tram when you intend to quash or drive is suicidal.

I tell you...I don't know why there's so much hype over TM I was recommended to by medical doc' to take for a period of time and it work like magic to cure my severe pain till now Bro. ..my former MD in an oil and gas plant, I was so close to him and I saw 2 sachets of 100 of trams in his combined drug from a pharmacy he used to visit...one thing I agree concerning this particular drug is that doctor recommends it alot even without u knowing what kinda drug it is...I bet my md doesn't know what drug it was...most of these people who sees the other side probably abuses it, of cause too much of everything is bad..they mix it with all sorta drug and expect not to be high..I swear I never regard tram as highing substance not until now that I started reading these gibberish from nairalanders

I want to digress a bit.
Can you please shed more light on the highlighted? How's weed effective? What health benefit does it offer to the body, to the extent of having it replace prescriptive, which is a killer itself? (Maybe It's a Rhetorical question, but I sincerely wanna know and wanna clarify things I've read about it)
Except it's a different weed we're talking about here.

I'm asking because even here, the govt is about to legalize it. And I cant imagine what kind of role it'll play in the society, except to make people fumble. (Pardon me, that's just the way I feel about it) I always wonder why would someone decide to take something that will knock them out of this world? You mentioned it's not addictive, why cant people do without it?

PS: Never taken it. Dont know what it feels like or it's health benefit. But I see how people who take it act, and I've seen an innocent person get high just by inhaling a passerby's weed.

Some doc don't even know that tram is addictive when prescribed for longer. Due to the fact that they are good painkillers they are mistaken for everyday paracetamol or aspirin.

The first time I had it (trams)was recommended by a doc and I was on it for nearly a month 100gm daily...so what will u say about that Op..

One thing I know is that it causes addiction and for the past 4yrs I have been doing it despite the fact that I was told after the recommendation period elapse I shouldn't use it again..but the highest I ever took was 200 a day and am sure am not addicted cuz I could go a whole week without it...it is mostly when I got stuffs to do maybe on my lappy and I wouldn't want to doze off...and I take stuffs too to flush my system despite not abusing it...too much of every is bad..even if u take coke too much u will get high diabetes

Seriously I don't see the drugs as life threatening, except when it's over used.
