Video - Huge Turn Out At The NPower National Assembly Protest Today

NPower volunteers travelled to Abuja massively to carry out a peaceful protest at the National Assembly Abuja. The protest is about a fruitful exit package for the NPower volunteers. The NPower volunteers are demanding a permanent solution to their situation to avoid been sent back to the labour market after serving for 4 years in the scheme, which has affected some of them age wise in getting other jobs due to their age limit.

Feedback Of NPower Volunteers' Protest Held Today At National Assembly Complex, An NPower's Account

It was really a show of determination from NPower volunteers across the 36 states of the Federation. The NPower volunteers about 500 in number trooped out today with different placards and inscriptions on them. They came out with one mind, one body, one goal and that is; permanent employment from the Federal Government.

The breakdown of the NPower protest are as follows:

DEPARTURE VENUE:

NPower beneficiaries from all 36 states converged at unity fountain enchanting different kinds of solidarity songs and off they Marched straight to the National Assembly complex, a serene environment with different kinds of attractive cars, but very difficult to see people on the road. Abuja is indeed a home of "big men".

INTIMIDATION FROM SECURITY OPERATIVES

Well not many will call it intimidation but I would prefer to use that word. We were running out of patient when no one came to see us despite our letter to them. A member of the press came and calm down the already built tension by interviewing us. But then the tension rose again as NPower volunteers could not longer swallow it. Enchanted songs was being heard from all over with loud aluta voice.

THEN CAME THIS SUDDEN

Guess what?

The heavens opened doors, and the cat and dog rain fell on us, but with determination, NPower volunteers were not discouraged, the serenity can not be overruled, but then some NPower volunteers still determined to get what they wanted raised their voices again in Aluta.

HOPE REKINDLED

Suddenly, a Jeep came out from the complex, to us, it was normal passers by Jeep, we were not really bothered at all. Behold, it parked in front of us and two distinguished Senators came out from the car, I heard the uncontrollable shout of NPower volunteers in the air, it was like a thunder. These men with their native wears came out majestically.

Standing in front of us were these men, and so everywhere was calm with great expectation from NPower volunteers, all of a sudden, the writer of this epistle got tired and had to take some rest cos of stress from the protest...

NPower: Beneficiaries Forum Disowns Protesters, Pledges Support For Sadiya Farouq’s Launch Of NPower Batch C
No fewer than 300,000 NPower beneficiaries of the NPower scheme across the country have disassociated themselves from an alleged protest over the winding down of the Batch A and B streams.
The group, under the aegis of NPower Nationwide Beneficiary’s Forum, said the persons were “sponsored” by political detractors to dent the progress recorded under the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq.
In a statement signed by its Secretary-General, Ambassador Godswill Ibekwe, on Saturday, the NPower beneficiaries disclosed that these “selfish” persons were never at any point its members, expressing gratitude to the president for the “opportunity to benefit immensely from the scheme”.
Ambassador Ibekwe added that genuine beneficiaries have welcomed the launch of the NPower Batch C as it would avail the same opportunity to other young Nigerians to learn a skill as well as earn stipends.
While declaring maximum support for President Muhammadu Buhari and Hajiya Farouq, the group vowed that in due course its members and prospective Batch C beneficiaries would show their appreciation for the privilege.
The group, however, pleaded that the NPower scheme be expanded to accommodate more Nigerian youths.

Re: N-Power Lagos Thread by AutosBay(m): 6:21pm On Jul 29, 2020
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH FROM THE HONORABLE MINISTER.

I have never for once imagine the minister of Humanitarian affairs and disaster management could be this callous especially with the way she is playing media politics with the future and careers of Npower volunteers across the federation.

I saw a woman who covered her hair claiming she is a devoted Muslim yet portrayed herself to be the most wicked, callous and inhuman personality.

If in 2023, a female decide to contest for the position of President of this country, I will be the first person to organize millions of Nigerians to votes against them. This is because they never cared for the youths, instead, they go ahead to strongly support women against men and the youths.

Some women are so mean and heartless. Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq is one them. We can no longer tolerate the game she is playing with the future of the vibrant youth of our great nation.

Npower is one of the cardinal program of this administration and the objectives is to drastically reduced unemployment in the country. But what we have is "Going back to square one" the minister has not been up to the task, she is toiling with the future of the youths by playing politics with their lives.

Nigerians’ rights also include "right to freedom of expression. Npower beneficiaries have been protesting against exiting us from the program without adequate compensation from the federal government.

What we see in recent time is that madam farouq organized some God forsaken rented crowd to counter our agitation and the question one will ask is that is this "politics" or pure wickedness from the Honorable Minister who has bad intention for the beneficiaries judging from her recent action.

*The latest is that she organized/rented some youth who from all indication are not Npower volunteers to gathere at Abuja to pay thank you visit to her office and the office of Mr.President. What a cheap and unfounded propaganda being displayed and spread by the Honorable minister and believe me "Whatever she sows...she will definitely reap.*

*Considering the picture, non of the said youth, not even a single one of them wore Npower vest. Some of them are Fulani Hausa who were just informed of what is going on and they came to also participate in the fruitless thank you visit.*

WE WILL CONTINUE TO RESIST HER PLAN IN DISCOURAGING US FROM OUR AGITATION WHICH IS "PERMANENCY OR REASONABLE GRANT FROM THE FG.

We have no business with the Honorable minister anymore since she has proven to be a chameleon and a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She can never be trusted anymore.

So our agitation is gear toward the Presidency most especially the respected President Muhammadu Buhari and all the state Governors to look into this. WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO GO BACK TO THE STREET.

If that happen, then crime will increase drastically, we don't pray for this to happen. But we plead with all the Government officials to play their part in this agitation of ours.

We won't relent until our demands come to pass.

We protested in Abuja, we hit her very hard, she became gentle
The Oyo state NPower representatives organized a successful protest against her, she was terrified.
She came up with a baseless post from vanguard.
Vanguard newspaper became the enemy of the Nigerian youth.
We organized some NPower volunteers to visit President Buhari in Daura Katsina state
Mere seen this, she organized her political thugs who pretended to be NPower volunteers for a thank you visit.
A cheap game.
Obviously seen that all of them, not a single one of them wore NPower vest.
Hausa Fulani seeing them join them too.
What a wicked world to go against the pride the nation.
So what is her next plan?
Guys, guess what?
WE ARE READY FOR HER ANY DAY, ANY TIME.
The battle line is drawn.
