There are different ways to make a relationship work.No relationship works on its own.Parties involved must come together and make concerted efforts and sacrifice towards the success of the relationship.In trying to make a union work,both sides must contribute,it is not a one man show.To help your relationship work,here are 13 ways you should consider thoroughly:



1. Accept conflict as normal.
Disagreements happen. Except in cases beyond repair, so don’t throw away a relationship because you’ve hit a rough patch. Trust and commitment deepen as you travel through storms together.

2.Break Communication boundaries.
Many relationships die from silence than violence. For your relationship to stand the test of time you both must communicate more with each other no matter the distance between you two.

3. Never pay evil for evil.
Whenever your relationship is suffering from a bad behavior from the other person, why not find out what the cause is instead of doing wrong all in the name of repaying bad deeds. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

4. Learn to say ‘thank you’
in a relationship, it is very important for both parties to learn how to be appreciative when either of them does something good.

5. Use the word “we”
When communicating in a relationship, the pronoun “we” must be used when discussing. This brings the connection between the two together

6. Say “I love you” with your actions.
Perform little acts of kindness for your partner that let them know you love them. Don’t just say you love with your mouth but let your action speak more about how you really feel.

7. Always remember birthdays
Nothing hurts more like forgetting the birthday of the one you say you love. Always keep a record of this special day as this will help you celebrate your partner well on his day.

8. Keep the playfulness alive.
We all love to play, regardless of our age. Do the following: have fun together; do something ridiculous together, and just let go. In addition, the next time that your partner says something that bothers you, try responding with a joke instead of getting defensive.

9. Give gifts
Love is giving. When in a relationship, learn how to give gifts to your partner no matter how small. This reminds the person how much you love and cherish them. This should not be done by guys alone but both lovers.

Paying your partner a surprise visit goes far in strengthening your relationship. You can try to say hello once in a while at work.

11. Laugh together
It seems funny or simple but it strengthens the bond of partners if they find something funny and laugh about it. Situations that seems tough receives ease when we laugh over them.

12. Celebrate each other’s, Parents
W hen the need arises, remember to celebrate the parents of your partner on their birthdays or any other anniversary. It goes a long way to show how you regard and respect them.

13. Avoid embarrassing your partner in public
Try as much as possible not to embarrass your partner in public, not even in the presence of his or her family. Wait till both of you are alone to discuss whatever issues you have.
