With our heart full of pains , we announced the demise of two of our colleagues, OLABIYI EMMANUEL , from the department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering (AGE) 300level, and OLOKUN BABATUNDE ALEX, from the department of Project Management Technology (PMT) 300level.

The news reached us that they at the place for their Entrepreneurship training (ENT) at the laboratory for Fishery and Aquaculture, at the back of great hall, Obakekere. After the training, four of them decided to take a selfie on the canoe packed at the venue, during that process, the canoe which the four of them where in capsized, in which they drowned inside the water, and two of them narrowly escaped because they were able to swim, while the other two find it difficult to swim which leads to their death.

Therefore, we implore you all to pay your last respect to our colleagues we lost in this disaster.

RIP to the deceased, we which you both AlJanah Fridaus.

When death calls....

Could this be the write up of a PRO in one of our revered Federal Universities? Oh! It's a pity. Anyway, RIP to the dead.

My condolences but then the rate at which injuries and accidents caused by phones is becoming alarming, I've seen students walking beside a gutter and sending text ,crossing a road and eyes glued to the phone. Forget the phone until you're safe from hazards.

I want you to know that one's name is not a prerequisite to one's destiny.. People can bear ridiculous names yet they will excel in life. Moreover, if a good name is all is needed to win the race of life, people who bear good names should always take the lead in life

The only thing I see here is that, when someone bears the name "Judas", it may only scare people in dealing with you, that's all. It does not determine your destiny. One can be named a "millionaire" and that person may wallow in poverty all the days of his life.

The whites bear ridiculous names but it does not determine how the journey of their lives will go

The nigerian family see swimming to be immoral!,...i repeat teach them to swin...lasss warnnninng!

Mostly because girl's swim wear will often jumpy and emotionally immature Naija boys funny-freaky ideas but the solution to that is not debarring girls from venturing to pool-sides. And it's bad. A girl can always be toasted etc in a million and one other places.

You'd be surprised how many home-based Nigerians can't swim despite the abundance of pools, freshwater rivers etc. You can even drown some in a bath-tub or washing bowl if you tried sef. Dunno why most naija tribes are so water shy. you invite gals out to the pool and they instantly run away. And the boys? they come with all sorts of mammy-water issh? wtf is dat?

Parents need to be aware of this and take swimming lessons for their kids as an essential family activity.
