Kogi State commissioner for finance and Chairman Kogi State economic Team, Honorable Asiwaju Idris Asiru was on Saturday conferred with the traditional title of Abobaniyi in Ejuku Land of Kogi state.


The Oba, Alhaji Karimu Ibrahim Araba, said Asiwaju deserved the title in view of his sterling qualities and contribution to the development of Ejuku and kogi State at large.

He said, “by this title, you have become one of the citizens of this community and a title holder of this palace. ”


He urged him to be a good ambassador of the Community by providing good and examplary leadership at the state.


Responding, Asiwaju, who thanked the OBA for seeing him worthy of the title, said he would live up to the expectations of the people.

He also pledged to discharge all the attributes of the title to the best of his ability.


The Honorable commissioner hailed Governor Yahaya Bello for his development strides in Okunland, urging Ejuku people to always support government programs and policies in order to keep attracting dividends of democracy to the area. He told the community that the change belongs to them and charged them to support the government who had already embarked on the asphalt overlay of Iyamoye/Alu/Ifeolukotun/Ponyan/jege/Ejuku/Ijowa/Isanlu road as well as Ifeolukotun/ohun/Ekinrin-ade road. Omi Dam project as well as employment of sons and daughters of Ejuku into public service.

Also reacting, Chief Idowu Baba, a member of the Ejuku Traditional Council, who thanked Honorable Asiwaju for his contribution to Ejuku Land and requested that the state government should help to upgrade the stool of the Ele Ejuku of Ejuku to first class status.

The ceremonies were witnessed by all the local government administrators in Okunland, State appointees from Kogi west and other zones
