Igbo's ought to start putting the events of 1967-1970 in proper lights and prospective so that everyone is fully aware of the activities the took place therein because masquerading everything that happened within that period as the Biafra war or Nigerian civil war is downplaying the catastrophic events that played out within that time frame.

On this note we must always make a clear distinction between the Biafran war or Nigerian civil war and the Biafran Genocide. It is true that both event played out within 1967-70 however these event are two separate acts that must never be classified as one as it downplays or water down the effects and actions of the genocide and the players behind it. These separate event must be identified as what they truly are two separate events, A war and a genocide.

It is on record that the civil war recorded more Nigerian military casualties than the Biafran Military, with the Biafra military loosing 30,000 soldiers while the Nigerian army lost above 80,000 of its troop, in fact it is on the record that the Nigerian army lost 2 times this figure but decided to keep mute on the figures as they have not released the actual figure of the Nigerian soldiers lost to the war 50 years after.

It was this massive victory of the Biafran soldiers that gave birth to the ill thought of the Biafran genocide, at this this point the Nigerian government had realized that it was impossible for them to clinch any victory over the Biafrans through warfare even with the backing of major players and world powers, so the Nigerian government resorted to genocide and blackmail, forcing the Biafrans to end the war on terms of No victor no vanquished.

The genocide demographic was majorly innocent women and children as these were the major victims and worst hit, the numbers of these women and children drove the casualty and death toll to over 3 million lives of innocent women and children who died as result of a food blockage policy by the Nigerian federal government whom also engaged in bombing farms, markets, churches, schools, refuge camps, etc to ensure 100% starvation goal.

On this note it is imperative to note that while the Biafrans won the war they were compelled to remain in Nigeria through blackmail, as Biafrans empathize the loss of their women and children for which they agreed to end the war "No Victor no Vanquished". It should also be important to note that if the war did not end on the terms of "No Victor No Vanquish" that war would be raging 10 years after or till this day to see the rise of Biafra.

Like the saying goes he that lives fights another day, Igbo's want referendum not war however, Igbo's are not scared of another war, but we must prevent the event of another genocide should a war be brought to our doors again. If we defeated the Nigerian army that had global backing with our ragtag army, indigenous tanks, bombs and ammunition but were compelled by conscience to end the war to save our children, we can win yet another war and record a victory without any mechanism or tools for blackmail in place.

Boy, in a declaration of war there is nothing like genocide.
You may hear of civilian casuaties, but come to think that "super men" who cannot defend their helpless civilian population in war are worse than infidels and have no reason to go to war in the first place.

Although your story is one of those "feel good" conjectures. No biafra army even died during the war, they only passed on cheesy

What happened then was genocide against Biafrans by nigerians from the north and southwest. They rewrote the history and it became just civil war, but our people are awakening to reality. Rwanda's deaths was not up to that of Biafran's, yet the whole world acknowledged it as genocide.

There shall be no war...even though the SW really wants war, but there shall be no war. And the sun shall still rise.

You should have done a little research before showing your ignorance for all to see. In as much as your post lacks common sense and reeks of tribalism, bitterness, hate and ignorance, I would have ignored it but then uninformed readers would assume it to be true, so I am left with the wise but sad option of responding to your delusional outburst to kill the misinformation.

Incase you don't know how to go about your research and finding, let me help a little, Olodo, look up these words, phrases their definition, meaning and application;

War, Genocide, War crimes, Rules of Engagement, you can go further to check the civil war casualties on both sides, Are civilians target in warfare? collateral damage, does it even make any sense to have over 1m as collateral damage if not a deliberate, systematic and well orchestrated attempt at genocide.

For you to think that a genocide can't play out in warfare it shows you know nothing or in simple words, "plain stupid", what was Hitler's intention when he declared war against races he felt inferior?

Read and learn, stop thinking or reasoning like a goat that you ought to be better than. Ewu.
